Synchrony Bank

Very fishy -- Left a recorded message, allegedly from "Synchrony Bank", a bank with which both we have multiple accounts. The recorded message said to call them back at 866-419-2780, and also gave a mailing address somewhere in Utah, although this call came from an Ohio phone number. In addition, they did not ask for either of us by name, nor did they identify which account they were calling in reference to. Since both of us are up to date on payments or have a balance of $0, I also looked up the 866 number. Turns out that number is frequently reported as fraudulent as well.

Phone number keeps calling about 4 or 5 times a day and won't leave a message and we know this number is a Ohio phone number but we do not know anybody that has that number.

They say they are Sychrony bank wbuch is JCP. I am over due. Could be legit.

Well, gee, I wonder if you called the number on the back of your card you would know if this is them calling?

Says they are from Synchrony. They do know my name (probably in public records). They do not mention a specific account. Looked up Synchrony bank, they are based in Florida, call center does not have an Ohio address. Sounds like a scam to me.
