Just recieved the call here in Pittsburgh too!  Suspicious based on number!  I hope these fools call again so I can give them a pice of my mind.

I got a call from this number this morning, and with all of the zeroes, I got suspicious. I let it go to the machine, and of course, there was no message. I tried to call the number, and it took a while to go through, so since I was unfamiliar even with the Area Code, I hung up on the first ring and decided to check it out online. I have found that this Area Code is in suburban Chicago. That's all I have found out, but it is obviously a scam.

They called a few minutes ago after playing dumb about which credit card company they were with and not understanding why they wanted my info.  They said they weren't with a credit card company that they were working with them and they're company name was:  Continental Financial Services.  I've added this bit of info to my donotcall.gov complaint.

Automated call said to press "9" to lower interest rate on credit cards.  Pressed "9" and got connected to a woman who asks, "So I understand you want to lower the rate on your MC or Visa?" I said, "I don't even know who I'm talking to.", at which she immediately hung up.

Received call from 331-000-3217 at around 1:00pm today.  Tthe automated msg. said to press 9 for a rep. who was going to lower the rate on my credit card.  The rep who answered went through a speil quick about he was working with Visa & Mastercard and wanted to know if I had a balance or paid it off monthly.  I asked him who had given him my name and why wasn't the bank contacting me directly.  He hung up.  I called the Sheriff's office and reported the number and call.  They told me if they call again I can file harrassment charges, but just trying to get information from me wasn't a crime in itself.

I filed a complaint with the do not call registry. You don't need to know the company name to file the complaint; the phone number is sufficient. Their website is www.donotcall.gov

March 18,2009, Out of Area, no message left. I have learned from another site that one of the names they are using is Continental Financial Services which I am sure is not really a company. I will use this name on my complaint to Do No Call list. However since the phone number is a dummy I doubt that it will help much. Since  Jan of 2009 telemarketers are no longer supposed to use automated calling to make phone calls and leave messages.

These dirtbags have called me a couple of times.  I finally answered because I'm on the do not call list and was curious to see what their SCAM was.  They said they could lower my interest rates and tried to get my credit card numbers.  I hope they die.

I just received (2:45PM CDT on 3/25/09) an incoming call with "Illinois Call" and the phone # 331-000-3217.  This looked suspicious so I did not answer it.  I searched the number and found this site in regard to it.

I got a call at 4:41 today.  I pressed 9 to tell them I was on the do not call list and to take my number off of their list.  The guy told me it would be $4000.00 for 2 years then hung up!!  What's up with that?!?!?  I am reporting them!!

Screw them, I reported them even though I never talked to them.

Looks like the classic "Heather from Account Services" phishers are still at it--now calling themselves "Rachel from Cardholder Services".

I get calls from that number and others like it.
I bought a device at Walmart that discourages calls like these as well as telemarketers. It's called Telemarketer Call Screener. It doesn't stop the phone from ringing, but as soon as it rings one time or two (depending on the mods you set it in), it plays a message stating this number does not accept call like this and to remove the number from the list. No scammer or telemarketer has ever had the nerve to go to the "Press 1 if you are family or friends in order to get through" function. It has the SIT tones that beep to tricks callers.

Same exact thing happened to me.  I do have credit cards.  When he asked if I had at least 12% interest I said no.  Than he asked if I had more than $3,000.00 in debt?  I said no and he said thank you and hung up.

I also got a call from this number 15 minutes ago, 3:55pm, 4/6/09, showing as an Illinois call and that they could lower my rates.  Asked them to send me some forms and immediately got a dial tone.

Recieved a call again today. I have contacted Ill Atty General and Atty General In Indiana. I have been told by Atty General Indana they can't do anything with out a company name. I have not heard back from Ill Atty General.

It does not matter if you are on the do not call list. This is a scam call. Keep them on the line and waste their time. With out knowing who they are nothing can or will be done by your state

I have gotten other annonymous calls like this.  I'm getting annoyed.  I'm on the Nat. do not call list.  If I these annonymous calls don't stop I'm going to the attorney general of the of which the area code the number comes in on. This is harassment.
Not putting up with it.  I will get to the bottom of these calls.

I attempted to report this number 1-331-000-3217 and the webstite wont accept the number---I'm assuming it is because the software doesn't recognize the exchange / suffix " 000 ".
