Scam according to the Illinois state police on the  news, some are a  robo call asking for a donation for the police, or you must pay a fine or we are coming to arrest you , don't believe it
the real police don't solicit by phone, they use the mail in our town they arrest hundreds a week for not wearing a seatbelt, no reason to call on the phone and ask for a hand out .
if they were going to call on the phone they might as well sit  on a corner with a cup for you to put spare change in, in our town we pay taxes for the police, why would they bother taking money over the phone, that looks low life , bums do  it, scam artists , they play a recording so you don't hear their indian or isis alqaeda accent.
