It is Portfolio Recovery Collection Service. If you block them they keep trying with new number and sometimes new area code too. The problem is I don’t owe any debts. They buy charged off debts from 10 years old and older that would already be cleared by time statutes from credit bureaus, bankruptcy, or actual original company that client owed the money to,  They cannot file lawsuit or attach wages or anything like that. They buy the debt thinking people won’t know the above laws about charge offs and use tactics that “current debt  collections” could actually use like lawsuits etc. Scaring you that debt has come back and you must pay or screw up your credit etc. it’s basically a scam. But since the debt was valid 10 plus years ago they may try and try and try to collect it. But the tactics they use are against the law. They don’t care though, we all know that.

Boy you folks all sound like the same broken record.  Did you know that SOL can run up to 15 years?  In that case being over 10 does not mean that they cannot sue you.  Plus not all the debts they buy are over 10 years which means that in certain states they can and will sue you and if they win, then they can and will garnish wages.  Perhaps you should actually take the time to learn and educate yourself before making stupid statements of fact that are not actually facts?  That would probably be way too much to hope for even with Christmas coming.

Seems as if the first person knows more than you do actually, because they have been calling my phone for sixteen years and never have filed any suits of any kind and i have an 802 credit score and get credit offers daily.

I get call alot about a few debt that I supposedly I and that I better pay now or will face a long prison sentence...I only owe one credit card company and I'm almost done paying them off....so this is good info to know, thanks!
