Called a few times with no message. Finally picked up and he was determined to talk to me even though I was not who he asked for. When I said wrong number he said "wait aren't you in"... A city name and I lied and said no and he so "oh so I must have really gotten the wrong number bye"? A lot of noise was in the background and did not sound professional. This # calls me 6x a day it's a solar company. Who does not take no for an answer. I said 100 xs take my # off ur list. They don't. I reported there name and num but they still call. Help please

I am John Guy. Some [***], criminal robocalling Solar Panel scammers (and sometimes other scammers) have been making calls spoofing my wife's phone number as the "from" number. It's a family line, so my name is showing up. She is getting callbacks from victims every couple minutes, hundreds a day and have received a thousand+ so far and it basically has killed her phone and has been really stressful for her.

We have called the appropriate authorities about this.

If you call her number back you might hear her voicemail where she tries to explain what has happened, but voicemail fills up fast and you might just hear a "Voicemail is full" message.

Some victims who call her back have been sympathetic and understand what has happened here (a couple people have said they've had their numbers spoofed too). Other's think we are the robocallers and leave angry messages.

One victim left a message on my wife's voicemail saying that she has gotten a lot of calls from this robocaller. Usually when she picks up it says "Hello" and hangs up.  But one time she was able to talk with someone and they said they were US Home Solar out of San Francisco (who knows where they are really from) and that their number is 1-877-709-2747.

Someone else also left a message on my wife's phone describing their experience, saying that he has been hounded by someone (not a robocall) wanting to buy his mother's house, so different scams are happening here, spoofing my wife's number.

I'm sorry that you all, as well as my wife, are victims of these criminals. And thank you to those who have left helpful messages.

I have started to get calls from this number for past two days, listed on Caller ID  as "Out of Area".  This continuing scenario experienced by so many people, has long since become obscenely absurd  !!!!.   Why don't our elected officials legally require phone service providers to protect their customers against this form of telecommunication terrorism ?!!!!

After answering this guy rattles off an address. I think it was an address because his thick Indian accent was difficult to understand. He wanted to know if I lived in an apartment. I asked him where he lived and he said, "In the U.S.A., California." Then proceeded yell that he hates people who live in apartments.

No doubt another ignorant telemarketer from outside the country. About the only thing they know about the U.S. is that they are outside the U.S.'s jurisdiction for the Do Not Call list.

I guess his hostility is a reaction to the abuse from previous callers--abuse he so righteously deserves.

I know I can block robo calls and spam calls with a device for home phone and a app for cellphones but can someone tell me how to beat spoofing?

I sympathize with you Jon Guy and your wife.  I have also received phone call spam from this number.  Occasionally the caller ID number is my own listed number, and so yes I am aware that these spammers are hijacking numbers from which to peddle their fake companies.   The information you provided here is much valued.   I check out all spam numbers before I block them.

wow this guy had the worst English every, just blocked them, that's 2 today and its been awhile, I have blocked well over 50 numbers all for Solar BS...keep'em coming

Have had the same problem,it is getting so bad that if we don't answer a call from a certain state within two minutes we receive a call from a different state this sometimes happens several times in a row

Hi dwitt, my wife's phone was the victim of this spoofing by these "US Solar" criminals - and, no, we couldn't find a solution. After more than a thousand callbacks from these robocall victims, hundreds a day, and no solution in sight, my wife canceled her phone number and got a new number.

Crappy solution, but the only one we could find.

I've tried to post some follow up posts but they don't seem to have gone through. An update: it got so bad, hundreds of callbacks a day, that my wife cancelled her number and got a new one.

For victims of these robocalls (but not victims of spoofing like my wife) google "nomo robo" which is a robocalling filtering service and see if it works for you.

Received a call showing caller ID as 347-268-2415, on June 9th, 2015 at 6:03 pm. I answered after the called ID displayed but, there was silence...after a few seconds, what sounded like a computer generated voice, said: "Good Bye," and then they disconnected.

Called.  I no longer answer weird numbers I don't recognize.  Didn't leave message.  What kind of fake ass ns me is that?!  Hahaha.  Either hes stupid or his mama is. :P
