Received a strange call from a company (ACS Consolidation SVCS) on my cell phone with a number of +052497347 and then from this New York number 347-416-5123. The guy on the phone was a foreigner who stated that a company called CashAdvance USA was filing a litigation suit against my social security number for some funds they input into my Regions account on 7/10/2010 and if I pay them so much money the lawsuit can be stopped. I don't know how much of my SS# or bank account number they have, but they called out last 4 digits and know my bank account's name. I did not receive any funds in my Regions account from that time from a payday loan center. I remember researching one Cash Advance Loan Center and entered my information but never heard from them. Upon entering my information several additional companies and screens kept popping up with my information. I believe this company is trying to get my full social security number for fraudulent purposes and are using phishising software tactics to gather the information. After researching the complaints board online, it looks like they have tried this scam a plethora of times with other consumers who have also filed complaints. I am going to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, The Attorney General, The New York Department of Agricultural and Consumer Affairs and consumer services.
