- AK| 1 replyHas called 3 times. States a legal problem with my account and mentions the attorney general and states I need to call this number Right Now. No other info is given on message.
- Robert, Ark.Says his name is Adam (couldn't make out the last name); has an accent--Indian, Pakistani etc. States that he is with the Department of Legal Affairs (doesn't identify what entity the department is part of, such as a state, country or corporation). They are starting legal action and that I might want my attorney to call the number to avoid a conflict on the phone.
- Caller: No name
- JenniferCalls begin at 6:30am my time, which is illegal. The call states there is legal action and you need to call this number back. I called the number and talked to "Kevin" followed by a long number. Kevin says there is IRS action against me. He won't tell me what it is. He says I should have received at CB43 form in the mail. By now I know this is bogus because I have talked to the real IRS before and they are not this vague. Also Mr Kevin's accent changed as I was speaking to him. When I called him out on it he hung up. Scam do not call.
- COJust got a call from someone sounding like he's from India and says that I owe money to the US Treasury and says that they have contacted me by mail already. Definitely a scam! Never recieved anything in the mail. All lies. Beware!
- Caller: Supposed US Treasury
- Call type: Debt collector
- EM| 1 replyReceived a call for my daughter, using her maiden name, which she changed 5 years ago. She has not lived here for 5 years either. Same message as others report that this person with an accent states he is from Legal Affairs and that she or a lawyer needs to call back. Obviously a scam - hope no one falls for this.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

- Nanna2These [***] are at it again, using a NY number this time. In August they used a Stafford, VA number. Do not fall for this scam. The IRS will never call you about money you may or may not owe. File a complaint with the FTC. Fill out the whole form and at the end you will get a Reference number. You can always call the FTC back and give the reference number to add more info to the complaint. Let your local police dept /station know you are getting these calls. If you have a local newspaper in your area, let them know also.
- Caller: Scam IRS call
- Call type: Debt collector
- BillGot this phone call and it went to voice mail. His name was Adam (had an Indian accent, there was also others talking in background like a call center). He asked for my son and said he was from the Department of Legal Affairs. He said to call back about a legal problem and have an attorney call. Sounds like a scam to me.
- Caller: Depatment of Legal Affairs
- RonReceived call from a guy claiming to be Jamie White - but an Indian or Pakastani accent. Claims to be with the US Treasury department of Legal Affairs. Looking for my daughter. Says there is pending legal action against her and she needs to call immediately. Claimed that she had been notified of the action multiple times by mail, but had not responded and this was her last chance to resolve the issue before legal action.

- EAReceived call today. Total scam, left a long message on my machine, I had to listen three times to understand half of it. The usual Dept. of Legal Affairs mumbo jumbo.
You would think that if they wanted to be taken seriously and really trick people into calling back they would actually speak understandable English. Smh- Caller: Dept. of Legal Affairs
- RMcDSame thing, "Department of Legal Affairs". Difficult to follow accent. Asked by name for my son who hasn't lived here for 9 years. Now blocked.
