Got scammed from a secret shopper. Cleared my bank account

Getting text messages about sending me checks for secret shopping???

Not Patrick, but the scam seems like this.  You get a check & are told to deposit it and then spend your money at various stores - such as Walmart to check their customer service -  and then wire the leftover funds to the crook.  The check will bounce & you will be out the money you sent PLUS bank charges (including a possible fraud charge).

I did get this same package but they are money orders, those can be instantly cashed right?

They sent me 2 $1,000 checks asking me to cash the check and buy stuff. I tore up the checks and looked up the number , and found this site.

I spoke to bank first that checks came from...its a fraud. Please dont anyone cash it. Call place first.

I just got the same thing, I was not planning on depositing it.  I was going to go to the bank and ask them if they could be cashed.  If not then.   NO WAY!!

if you cash them, you are still legally responsible if they bounce. You will have to return the money and the bank fees or face criminal charges.

Got the checked cash but then it was so much pressure to deposit on his acct. decided to go to my bank again they checked and it was scammed .

I got a text from a "Jesse Miller" and a priority mail with 2 $1,000.00 money orders.  A letter full of instructions on "how to be a mystery shopper"...

I received an email through my University email and signed up to be a secret shopper. I was sent a package in the mail with two $1000 money orders and instructions to deposit the money in my account and keep 350.00 as payment for completing the assignment. This number texted me asking if I received the package and to let him know when I completed the assignment. As soon as I searched the phone number I saw this. I will NOT be depositing the checks! Scam!

Take everything and send it to the Postal Inspectors. This is mail fraud.
