This # (347)535-3082 Pretends to be a Debt Collector for Chase, Citibank, Comenity, Target, Macy's, NY & CO etc. They call everyday from hundreds of different #'s sometimes leave messages in reference to debts not associated with me or constantly calls 4-6x daily leaves no messages and hangs up! The Do Not Call is useless, the FTC & other agencies don't do anything to stop these annoying SCAM ROBO CALLS!!! Do not pick up and block numbers, that's what I do. It's ridiculous and frustrating!!!!!
    • Caller: Fake Debt Collectors, Banks, Companies & Retail Stores!!!

If you had actually read the information about what the Do Not Call Registry (DNCR) does and does not do when you signed up, you would know that the DNCR is not a generic "call blocker" and it only applies to telemarketers.  Debt Collection, Political, Survey and Non-Profit callers are all explicitly exempted from the DNCR.  Scammers are not exempt from it but they are also not included in it (unless they try to sell you something), and they would not abide by it anyway.

Actually they do quite a bit about the problem and they regularly post about it on their websites.
However, since they do not employ psychics to sense when a call violating the DNCR rules is being made, they have to rely on the public to report the calls that they receive to the websites they have setup for that purpose.  And, they do not just immediately act on each single report as it is made, they have to accumulate enough reports to show there is a definite evidence of wrongdoing (as required by our Constitution and the Justice System of our Country).

    Now, my question to you:

Other than coming here to grumble and whine about all the "hundreds" of calls you have received, have you reported any of them to "the FTC & other agencies" or do you just expect others to do the work you should be doing?
