347-535-4483

Claimed to be from some legal department, but sounded like he was reading a script. Heavy accent, hard to understand. Overall, consistent with known scams.

Received a voice mail from this # at 10:20 am (east coast time) this morning.  Message was a male voice, sounded like an automated recording:
"Hello, this an important message about a legal status of your account.   As recently instructed by the attorney general of the state, this must be resolved immediately.  Please call back at 347-535-4483. Once again that number is 347-535-4483. You must call back right now."
Caller ID says New York, NY  No one in the house lives in that state.  We are not calling back but are interested to hear if others have had similar messages.

Claimed to be Jack Lewis from US Treasury Legal Affairs- call immediately. Same as above - heavy accent reading a script.

Just got a call and said the same thing

Had same call from same number left on my recorder. The male caller had a thick accent. Did not return call.

Just got a call from this number also.  Called before 9:00 a.m. CST.  Don't live in New York nor do we know anyone living in New York.  SCAM!!!!

I believe this is a scam

Received a call at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time from an Asian man who says he is with the US Treasury. He tells me It is an emergency and that my husband needs to call back. He makes sure I have written down the number by asking me to repeat it back to him. I took the number and looked it up to find out whether others were getting a similar call. I love the internet!!!!! Funny thing is that I just renewed my drivers license online....

Just returned a call to this no. I knew it was a scam but wanted to let him know I knew that and he was scum. Said he was from ny treasury depart. And I needed to resolve a legal matter! What an idiot!

message left stating that my husband needs to call back asap Chris Wilcox from the Dept of Legal Affairs US Treasury to avoid legal matters he should call your have our lawyer return the call!  Do these people have nothing better to do with their time, we live in WI

Called about 5 times 9/27, 9/28 something about the state attorney and legal matters. Sounded like if I didn't return call some one would come and haul me off to jail!

Got the exact same call!  This is about the 3 rd time in a couple of years that we got a call like this. What is the deal?  Did not call back

Received call for husband. We called back - just because we knew it was bs. They played the part right up to passing call to their lawyer then hung up. Called again - they hung up with out saying anything. Tried calling was last time - no answer.

I just got this same message and he told me not to call back until he talked to my wife.

Got this call on my voicemail yesterday from Chris Wilcox from the US Treasury.  They said it was some law enforcement violation that I had to call back right away, yes it sounded like they were reading off a card.  Thank goodness for internet, I was going to call back, but now I won't.  Thanks all for your feedback!

Received call on 9/29/15 This is the transcript of the message " This message is intended to contact Elizabeth Hopkins. Elizabeth hi this is
Jack Lewis with the Department of legal affairs of US treasury. I was trying
to reach you in regards to a very important issue. This is a verbal
notification for you in regards to the enforcement actions that have been
started on getting. My number is 347-535-4483. Again the number is
347535448334 any reason you are busy to call back. I was just you to have
your reaching-attorney(?) 223. I was calling with my gender-she(?) will you
get this. I hope you will take this white(?) to call me right back. This is
speak to you until then. Goodbye."
His english was almost unintelligible. I assume if the US Treasury was trying to reach me, they would send a letter. This is the second such attempt I have received  at a scam like this in the last 6 months
