Received a text saying I can claim my $100 Wal-mart gift card

I just received a text from this number about a $100 Wal-mart gift card.  I do not know who this party is, and do not want to receive messages from him/her.

I think they have graduated from Wal Mart cards to payday loans-although I got a text saying I could have x amt of dollars in my acct m in one hour-What is scary is they have my first name!!!THIS IS A SCAM AND I HAVE ALREADY FILED WITH STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE!!

I keep getting text from this number.  I have turned the internet messaging off on my phone per Verizon, and i am still getting these messages.  This cost alot of people money....shouldnt this be illegal???!!!  There has to be something someone can do to stop this crap!

I know the "do not call" people do absolutely nothing. What is the point of signing up for the list if you are still getting this kind of stuff?
