Received message stating from IRS and this is the final call before they file a lawsuit.  When I tried to call back the phone just rang and rang.  very annoying.

Left a message on my phone stating they were the IRS and this was their final call before they file a lawsuit.  Having dealt with the IRS, I know they do not work that way and send communication through snail mail. Plus I don't owe them anything.  :-)

It's a scam, this is the second time I received this call.  Don't call back or give them any information.  Report it to the IRS, they are investigating these calls.

I just got the same thing.  IRS...final call before they file a lawsuit.  SCAM!  I don't owe anything and I've never received previous calls.  Did not call back.

I'm pretty sure this is related to the same type of IRS scam calls coming from 561-210-4188 (Boca Raton, FL).  I've been receiving calls from both numbers since Sunday.

I rcvd this call with a recorded message as well telling me to call another number as the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I was nervous and unsure what was going on and I googled the number itself because after thinking about it , I couldn't imagine IRS calling and leaving such a message.

a person called and told me that they have been trying to reach me several times and if i dont call back they  are going to sue me.

SAME OLD irs scam.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.  IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government.     Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

IRS does NOT file lawsuits.  IRS has enough authority through the IRS code and related regulations to collect all taxes due the federal government.  Ignore and block these calls.  In the rare cases the IRS goes to court, it is only done by the Department of Justice.

7:00 am phone call saying IRS is suing, knew it was scam but still disturbing I can imagine our more vulnerable citizens getting very scared.  Female voice in halting English.

Rcd call Thu 03/03/16, 08:47 AM. Same content as 95% of the above state. Pre-recorded msg sounded like it was made in a washing machine. IRS S*C*A*M !!!!

Received call last week --  calling number blocked -- she said she was from the tax dept.   So I asked her for phone # and address which caused some stuttering and hesitation.   She kept insisting she was from where you pay your taxes.    I told her I didn't believe her and hung up.      NOTE:  SHE NEVER SAID SHE WAS FROM THE IRS  --   SHE WAS FROM THE TAX DEPT.

How do we report it?

Same here, said it was IRS, but I have not called the number back.  I am planning to report it or file FCC complaint too.
