Recorded message left on my answering machine stating that a lawsuit has been filed against me and to call this number. Watch out---scam!!!

Just got the same message on my machine saying IRS is filing lawsuits against "you". (No name to confirm who they were calling).  Thanks for verifying that this is a scam.

Just got the IRS call from Washington State threatening to sue me.

Same here. Apparently, the IRS is trying to sue me. My neighbors have been getting these calls too. The local police department has warned of these scams.

Left a recorded message, was sort of garbled so the first second was cut off. All I could make out was the number they want me to call, but not why. Caller ID said Long Beach, WA

I got the same call just now, and same thing first part of message is cut off, something about a case and I need to call them back

I just receive the same sort of message.  The message was cut off, at the beginning, but the rest instructed me to call them back immediately.  Ya, I don't think so.  ID say's it's a call from Washington.

I just got the same message and got really scared cuz I didn't know what it would be about. Glad I looked it up to see it was a scam! (Caller ID said Long Beach, WA.)

Just called me on Wednesday and left a message that it was the IRS and that they are suing me as well. Called back just to see, and it was total silence on the phone for like 15 seconds and then I hung up. Crazy LOL

They called me at 9:35am, MST.  the caller ID says 306-244-4230 and labels its origin as "Unknown."
As with some of you, the message's beginning was cut off.  They ask to call them back immediately on their departmental number (same as above), followed by "thank you."
I did not call back.  if they have machines calling me, then it's either debt collection (which is bogus) or a phishing scam of some sort.

07/17/2015  Just got a call from this number and also said I was being sued due to an audit from 2008 to 2012, although I never got any notice.  Called back and  guy with a very heavy accent, who was very difficult to understand, said his name was Ray Williams, (sure it was!!!) and that I was being sued and cops were coming to arrest me.  Right then I knew it was bull.  Only problem was he did have my mailing address.  HOW did he get my number and address?  Everyone:  trace the 360-244-4230 number and see if it isn't an overseas call with a paid hosting service in the USA which offers USA phone numbers to offshore idiots for a subscription. This makes it appear to the victim that the call came from the US, when indeed it didn't.  BEWARE!!!!! SCAM!!!!!

Got the same call.  1st few seconds were cut off, saying to call back same number to discuss the "case".  Bogus/scam.  If it's legit they can mail me a letter :)
