I just got the same automated message.....IRS filing a lawsuit against me?!?!

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

i just got the same message from the same number 360-262-6457. What a scam!  Do not call this number it is not the IRS!

We just got a call from 360 262 6457 saying they were from the IRS and that there were 2 lawsuits that would be filed against us.  Checked with the IRS, nothing.  It has gotten to the point now that I just want to disconnect our phones!

I just got the same message.  The IRS is filing suit against me.  Needless to say, I'm not calling back.

You got that right!  Then a person is really in trouble.  The sad thing is some will call and give them the information.

Got a voice msg. saying it was IRS filing a lawsuit - knock yourself out!

Got the same message from "IRS"...must be a lot of this going around.

Got the same message on my answering machine today.  IRS filing lawsuit....  not calling number back!!

Left message on my answering machine saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call back @ 360-262-6457.

"Hello we have been trying to reach you. This automated message should be considered as a final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on 360-262-6457. I repeat 360-262-6457. Thank you."

I am uncertain at this time whether these people will get played or not. Stay tuned.

Received a call from that number.  The automated voice said that it was the IRS and advised that it was the final notice I would receive as the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me.  Having worked for the IRS I knew it was BS.  Certainly would be a wake-up call for someone who was elderly and frightened.  Maybe the FBI should be notified.

I received a message saying they are the IRS and they are filing a lawsuit against me.  They wanted me to call this number asap.  360 262 6457

This should be illegal!!  This and other companies should have a class action lawsuit against them.

Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. There isn't much we can do about these calls since we have no jurisdiction there.  And extortion is illegal.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

caller ID = Chehalis WA; recorded message says I've been sued by IRS and need to call the Dept at this number asap.  I'll get right on it!
