They say "Carpet Care," and really want to get someone into my house. When asked where they're located, the call center rep said "Simi Valley." I'm near Thousand Oaks, CA. A few seconds later they abruptly hung up. Apparently they don't like to talk much after lying. There is no business by that name in this area unless they've managed to conceal themselves from Google. Ya, like that's what legit businesses do.

Why would someone in Bellingham, Washington want to clean carpets in Central California?  Just a bunch of bleepin' IDTenTs

Robo call about carpet cleaning.  If you call the number there are instructions how to opt out but does not work as they keep calling.  If you try to talk to the idiot that answers, the minute you ask who it is or how to stop the calls, they just hang up.

They are scammers,   not legitimate,   registered with the FTC,   Telemarketers.

Same garbage.  They don't identify themselves other than giving the number in the caller id text.

Like the previous poster I use "phone tray" - have for several years - and am quite happy with it.  It's made by a company called "Traysoft."  It's quite good, but the downside is if you use it quite aggressively (and I do) you will occasionally block a legitimate call, and play them a nasty message (you can record your own messages). This is especially  the case for cell phone calls which don't always provide a proper id.  the program lets you "white list" numbers, but you have to take the time to do that.

My advise would be to have your number changed. If you are 16 you aren't running a business or anything with your number. So just change it......

Carpet Cleaning company.  Recorded message with their sales pitch.  Maybe time for some vigilante justice against these telemarketers!  They don't respect the 'Do Not Call' list, so why be nice to them!  Invite them to a location (not your actual home), they can then be abused at your discretion!   Send them on a wild goose chase, or they may even be good target practice!

Just as I was about to leave for a medical appt. the phone rang. I thought it  might have been the hospital, but ti was recorded message from 360-322-6184. Offering carpet cleaning. These folks need to be shut down ... for good.

Have you reported them to the DNC/FTC yet?   If enough people complain,  the action is more likely to happen.  Become a part of the solution.
