IRS scam.

It's a scam. They claim to be from IRS saying you ow me taxes and will be arrested if you don't pay

Got a call from this number. It's a scam. Claimed to be from IRS.

Yeah, it is a scam.  I owed the IRS a couple of thousand last year, but paid it to them, and I have a nice receipt saying that I am clear with them and my balance is $0.00.   So I get a message yesterday on the answering machine that says "... is filing a lawsuit against you. In order to discuss your case, please call 360-355-8677.  The fact that there is no name mentioned, only that someone is filing a lawsuit against you.  So I looked the number up on here and it mentions that it is an IRS scam.  So I do decide to call them and tell them that they are POS and am not worried about a lawsuit from them as I have receipt from the real IRS.  Don't you know it, but when I call, I get a "Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the listing and dial again."  At other times, it rings the fast busy signal.  Ha Ha, they can't even screw that up right.

It makes you wonder though.  What kind of access do they have.  Due to an error on my taxes, I owed the IRS about $2,000 dollars. So I paid them quickly and got a nice receipt saying thank you, paid in full, $0.00 dollars owed.  It is in my filing cabinet with the tax returns. So they would have to be able to see some records that allow them to know that at one time I owed the IRS or the scam would be worthless.

I don't think they have any access to any of our personal information, they are just randomly calling people. They called my parents before they called me so I knew it was a scam. I gave them a fake name and address and played along with them. They still claimed I owed them $13,000 and that if I pay them 1,000 they wouldn't proceed with the arrest warrant. Lol played along and told them I would pay them and they said they will stay on the phone until I wired transfered the money to them. So I just out the phone down and went about my business. They actually waited for about 40 mins lol
