We should be able to file a class action lawsuit against the town of Arlington, Washington.  Nothing will really come from this, but Arlington would get so angry that they would turn over the location and names of the people abusing their phone network.

I have, in the past, filed many complaints with the FCC for the seemingly endless number of violators to the 'Do Not Call Registry”.  Although this has proven to be effective and has prevented specifically identified violators from calling again there will always be more idiots who choose to do so.   I have since applied all of my valid incoming telephone call numbers with ‘special unique’ assigned ring tones and I do not answer any incoming call that activates the ‘standard’ ring tone.  With the ‘special’ ring tones the desired calls can be easily identified from a distance and even before looking at the callerid!  One needs not be interrupted from daily activities by having to rush to answer an undesired and intrusive phone call.   I advise facilitating this logical ‘solution’.  It is very easy, takes only a few minutes and it will solve nearly all of the problems by immediately identifying the intrusives.  Unfortunately, as with all technologies, the uniquely and specially assigned identifying ring tones don’t activate 100% of the time because nothing is completely accurate (in rare instances ‘desired’ calls may activate the ‘standard’ ring tone) but since I took this course of action many months ago I have discovered that it performs as designed about 95-98% of the time.  I understand that we are all aggravated by the inconsiderate idiots who push their products and services or attempt to obtain money or our personal information when it is our desire and our right to be left alone.  We pay for the use of our phones and these other ignorant a$$holes have no right to take advantage of them.  I have chosen to live by the philosophy “ignore the ignorant”.  It is up to all of us to personally take actions to ensure that our own rights are protected because others are focused entirely on themselves and their desires for personal gain.  If no one chose to answer (yes, we have a choice) these intrusively ignorant phone calls all of the efforts of those undesirables would be in vain.  Please take a few minutes to give this identification method a try … if you do not feel that it helps then you can always reconfigure the phone numbers back to their original specifications.  I sincerely hope that this “solution” helps.  It has proven to work for me!

No, we shouldn't, because these scammers use fake or spoofed phone numbers. Do you really think they'd use their own number? It'd be too easy for people to find them if they did.
So they use other people's phone numbers instead. That way, when we go searching, we find all these other places that have NOTHING to do with these freaks.

People, PLEASE, stop blaming the area that these calls seem to be made from. They're most likely not calling from there.

    tired of these calls
When you answer (or if you answer) when they ask for the expiration date and security code for credit card, politely ask them to hold on... wait a couple of seconds and then put an air horn up to phone and the calls will decrease. Loud music also works especially twisted sister, we're not gonna take it

The DNC Registry is for crap! 70% of my phone calls every month are from scammers or phone bots! I now leave my phone ringers off all the time. If someone really needs to talk to me about anything legitimate, they will leave a message. Fortunately, I have no family members that would need me immediately. The scammers and phone bots never leave a message!

Very annoying -- Repeated robo-calls from this number to a land- line on the Federal Do-Not-Call list. Finally picked up phone to tell this tele-spammer to stop violating the law.  But it is a recorded pitch from some boiler room operation caliing itself "Credit Card Services" ("Credit Card Phishers" is more like it.) So only option was to hang up on them.  VERY annoying.

this company calls all the time I have asked them to be taken of the do not call list over 6 times. when I try to be professional and speak to someone I get hung up on. My 7 year old boy just got knocked down the stairs by his brother trying to get to the phone on this holiday weekend. thank you usa for giving me my unconstitutional rights.

This company is thorough. I changed my phone number because of telemarketers and had my number listed and I am on the National Do Not Call List, which is about as useful as a toilet paper umbrella in a downpour. When I saw this number on my caller ID I remember the number from before. I looked at my old phone number list and sure enough I had received multiple calls. Now they have my new phone number.

After doing some research I discovered that this company is in violation of a federal law, 47 USC 227 (b)(1)(B) or the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 which makes it illegal to use a recording or machine of any kind to contact us without our approval. The reason it is not enforced is because the federal courts don't even want to hear the cases, despite it being a federal law. You do have the option to file a complaint with your state attorney general's office and/or sue the company. Maybe if we get enough people to sue these companies they will stop their illegal practices.

Folks, these people are crooks. They're looking for people stupid enough to give out their credit card information. If you tell them to leave you alone, you won't get any better results than telling a mugger to leave you alone. Get a phone that has a call blocking feature. The feds won't stop these calls, the phone company won't, so you have to block them. It's the only way.

I switched phone numbers about two weeks ago and have been receiving calls almost daily from this company since. They never leave a voicemail. When I pick up I get a recorded message about reducing my credit card interest rate. Today I pressed 1 to speak to a representative. When the rep picked up I asked to be removed from their calling list and was hung up on.

At this point this company is just harrassing me. I have I have received 10 calls from them in the last 2 weeks.

I have had three recorded calls from this number today alone.  I have been getting them every day for the last month.  They want me to "press 1" to talk to a live person, and they can "lower the interest rate on all my credit cards to 6%."  The national Do Not Call List is of no use whatsoever!

I've been getting unwanted phone calls, including this one, since someone in the family died and it was published.  Anyone else have that experience?
