Got a call from that number today, same message as everyone else. Called the number, the man did not ask for money, he just said the police will be picking me up. WHAT! I pay my taxes and H&R Block is who files them for me.

Was two messages about IRS case against me.

it's a scam.  they use the you are being arrested card to try to scare you into giving them money.  don't fall for it.  the IRS won't arrest you.  they will garnish your wages and take your tax refund, if you are owed one, but they won't arrest you nor will they ever call you.  they will send you a letter in the mail.

called early afternoon - same mo.  knew it was  not real so ignored

IRS is initiating a law suit against me. Call a number to get this resolved, or else.

You know what, I think I'll just wait for the jackbooted feds to break down my door and haul me off to jail. In the meantime, I'm going to make lunch.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I have received calls twice today from this number.  The first time I returned the call as instructed.  The guy who answered the call could barely speak English and was very difficult to understand (I had to ask him to repeat several times).  He said the IRS was initiating a lawsuit against me and I would be arrested.  I told him I am retired and haven't been required to file a tax claim in several years.  He apologized & hanged up.  Two hours later I got another call from this number and ignored it.  I went online and found this website.

I also received a call from this number. When I called I was told I was being sued by the IRS for not paying an outstanding balance that I owed from last year. When I explained that I actually got a return and didn't owe, they suddenly weren't looking for me and hung up on me. When I tried to call back they wouldn't answer my call and then started picking up and hanging up on me. Also they had outdated information of mine. TOTAL SCAM!!!!!

i got the same robo call , I called back and a man with a very heavy Indian accent said" I am the irs I called [***] and he hung up haha

Says I'm being sued from the IRS - SCAM

Called at 10 am on a Saturday morning.  Didn't answer but a recorded message was left saying we were being sued by the IRS and to call back.  Instead, I added the number to my list of blocked calls - well over 50 of them!!!

9/4/2015 this number call show ID caller unknown 360-474-4240, left  message saying that "IRS"  will file  a suit  against  me. This people are collection agency don't answer ok.

Rec'd two days in a row. Notified local Sheriff, State Police. Was referred to the Fed Trade Comm. It's all bulls--t. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.  Is that a surprise? No!! The brain of anyone falling for this not functioning in the 21st century. JUST HANG UP !!

Caller ID: Marysville WA left a message say that IRS  going to sue me.  What a scram calling on a weekend and left several harassing calls.

It was very  stressful  for me, they left me two voice mails  from number  360 4744240 asking  me to call  immediately ,because  IRS sue  me I call them, they  told  me  I have a  2 choices -paying  outside  amount  or I will be  arrested, and everything  on my name, when  I  told  them  I will  go directly  to IRS office  They  verbal  obused me Also they provide  my case number  ,officer  name his I'd and budge  number

As others have said, got a message alleging irs wants to sue me. Googled number and, as suspected, its a scam.  Also, don't think irs works on saturdays.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.
