"This is your Captain speaking...."  In the background is a cruise horn the whole time.  It calls me about once a month.

Received a call from this number and I did not answer because I did not recognize it. Not sure how they got my cell as only family and friends have it. They did not leave a message, so I can only assume it was a telemarketing call.

They called.  I didn't answer.  They didn't leave a message.  It gave a Seattle area code.  Maybe it was the ghost of Kurt Cobain.

I just got this call. I didn't answer and now that I see this I'm glad I didn't.  I've gotten the horn blast b.s. when working as a receptionist, so I am all too familiar with it, unfortunately.  What ticks me off is that I am also on the Do Not Call List.  Think I'll report it, and if you are on the list, you should report it too.  This is the link: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

Same here. I missed the call cause I don't answer numbers I don't know and it said all this cruise stuff in the voicemail and I called it back and, like with you, it rang once and got a busy signal. So weird..?

I also got this call (at 7:30!) but missed it. I tried to call back because I AM expecting a call from an unrecorded number, but I experienced the same odd thing where it rings once really quickly and then goes to a busy signal. I kind of want to call them again and again until they answer. "Is this my captain??" I'll cry!

This call from "my captain" locked my cell phone.  I had to take the battery out to disconnect the call.  I could hear a number dialing in the background while the recording was playing.  Only answered because I thought my cousin was calling.

I received a call from this # on my cellphone, too, but missed the call as it was dinner time. Before I could call back, I had to pop the battery out of my phone. (Which may be a coincidence, but the other comment said the same thing.) Called the number back (to request to "opt out") but got a fast busy signal.

Though there is a Do Not Call Registry and my # is on it, I believe the law changed to benefit telemarketers. I could be VERY wrong, but I thought marketers could call landlines and cellphones but now they MUST provide a verbal option to "opt out and remove [your] numer from [their] records." Usually, it is Option 9 on the calls I do catch. And, now I answer them to either (a) talk to the caller and tell them to remove my # or (b) wait to hear Option 9 opt out.

These are robo-calls. The computer dials blocks of numbers sequentially and hopes that someone will pick up. Best thing is to not answer the calls from numbers that you don't know. There's no way for the feds to patrol or monitor so the "Do Not Call" lists doesn't apply. When enough people complain the phone company cuts the number. These ccompany's just apply for another number(s) under a different identity.

So glad that I didn't pick up this call at 725 pm last eve. Bogus!!
