I've had quite enough now.  I contacted the organization via the email on their website, giving a detailed account of my experiences with their fundraisers.  I also shared with them 800notes.com to illustrate how these jerks are giving a worthy charity a bad name.  NO RESPONSE.  I got another call from 253-275-3600 (POLICE MEM FND) on 6/22.  I tried calling the WSFOP directly but it just rang.  Today I got another call from 360-547-6127 (POLICE MEM FND) and another hang-up.  Tried calling it back.  ring-ring-ring.  I'll keep stacking these up at dnc.gov but now it's time to call the WA state AG.  ENOUGH!  We donate plenty enough to charity on OUR terms.  I hate to make a point at the expense of potentially honest and worthy people, but NOT ANOTHER DIME to anyone until this business STOPS!  Sorry.

It is not a scam. its the FOP and Memorial fund.  I had been getting continous calls as well and so i finally answered to get rid of them...they must use a dialer type system and keep calling till someone answers.  But they are legit...just persistent :)

donate when you can.  every charity is for a good cause.  the FOP is a great fund to help out family members of police that have been injured or killed on duty!

This number called me on my phone which is on the "do not call" list.  Why doesn't the FCC treat such violations as an automatic OUT?  Jerks!

Since my last message, they have called my wife twice (she picked up both times and said to NOT CALL AGAIN.  They said they wouldn't call for six months.) and another time today that I didn't answer.  Enough blogging and emails.  I'm going to the AG.  At this point, it's harassment.

If you are going to donate $ to charity, initiate it yourself and deal directly with that organization.  The AG's office has rules for tele-fundraisers specifically. These people could care less about rules.  Put a stop to this BS.  (the "charity" rule mentioned in an earlier post actually says charities have to stop calling you for six months, while private biz has to stop forever.)

Some day, the Police or Fire Dept are going to call with an emergency, and I'm not going to answer, thinking it's these idiots.  How ironic that THEY are the dazard to public safety.
