I received an automated voice message phone call from 1-607-231-8335 saying this was the IRS' final attempt to contact me to inform me that they are filing a lawsuit against me.

They said to immediately call 1-360-967-4389.

I hope some one can find these jerks so they do not prey on innocent victims.

My wife got a voicemail from the auto dialer on 3/26/15.  I called it back (concerned, of course) and there was no answer.  I will try back again this afternoon, but it was a relief to search up this web page and information.

I received a call on my tracphone and they left a message.  When I called back the number 360-967-4389, a woman with a thick middle eastern accent said I owed $4,784 in taxes and fees due to incorrect IRS calculations from 2008-2013.  An officer had a warrant for my arrest and would come to my house within 1-2 hours and I would need to appear in court tomorrow morning.  My driver's license would be taken away immediately, etc.
    I am ignoring this scam.

Apparently numbnutz is cleaning up his act
I just got a recording but very professional female speaking excellent English
I guess he realized that no one is going to take him seriously when he sounds like he has a d**k in his mouth
Still, obvious scam - too many holes in his story line
Love to aggravate these lowlife types like when he sez he has a search warrant, I ask for what address and since he
can't give me one I explain in four letter words that it is impossible to get a search warrant, much less execute
    one without an address.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
