Telemarketing!  Googled number and this came up...

Did not respond after 2 hellos

No caller id so we did not pick up.
Nor did they leave a message !
Surprisingly already called twice today --- desperate ?

The guy claims to be calling for CARP and is offering a free one year membership as well as a subscription to Zoomer magazine.  I contacted CARP and they no nothing of this phone campaign. Do not give any personal info out over the phone. Do not give a credit card number over the phone. This is likely a scam because the phone number is not for CARP either.

Caller id field is filled with their phone number this time.
But of course we did not pick up :-)
Nor did they lv a message !

Has been calling here for the last 3 days, some days even twice. Leaves no message.

Creepy.  Claimed to be from CARP.  Not convincing. Gave fake website.  Scammer.

phone rings I look at caller id I see 1-403-488-7363 often when I see a 1 in front of a local area code I assume it's a scam caller. I'm in Edmonton so I'm also more used to 780/587 area codes. I decide to pick it up:
Me: hello
Caller: hello can I speak to Alexander
Me: yes this is Alexander
Caller: oh no worries ill update our database (made it sound like I said I wasn't the one they were looking for)
Me: oh no this is Alexander
Caller: no worries sorry for bothering you
Hangs up

I was so shocked that this person knew my name that I might have fallen into their trap of confirming who I am. Also this caller sunds like a real person but based on the way they respond and ignore what you tell them makes me think its a robot.

This is the CARP scam. The phone number does not belong to CARP. CARP does not partner with affinity benefits providers to offer deals of any kind.

Called once I answered and they started on about CARP I told them NO STOP I’m not interested and said have a good day and hung up
Now they call my house up to 3 times a day
I just blocked the number
But it was scary they knew my name and my husbands name

Received 2 calls, one in morning, one in afternoon. No message left.  Not going to answer either.  Anyone who needs to reach me can leave a message.  Also added a different ring on my phone for this number (and all telemarketer numbers) so that if I'm far away from phone, I don't need to rush to answer. So there! :D

Been calling twice a day for just over two weeks. Morning and again in the late afternoon. I don't answer Numbers I don't know or aren't identified by name. Nuisance call, more than anything. Caller will stop eventually and move on.

No Caller id other than the doubled up phone number.
So of course we did not pick up !
Nor did they lv a message.

I got one of those calls this after noon telling about their deals I told them I have no money no licence  and they hung up.
