- NimrodForward unwanted spam/scam texts to 7726 (SPAM) and let your phone service provider deal with them.
That number was set up by the phone companies to combat spam/scam texts and they can shutdown offending phone numbers.
Never reply with "STOP", scammers will not honor the request (they have no honor to begin with) and it only verifies that they have texted to a valid number with a person who reads their texts. It will not STOP the texts and may actually make them more frequent.
Never click on a link in such a text as it may cause malware to be inserted on your phone, and even if it does not, just as with replying "STOP" the scammers will know they reached a valid number.
Do not repost any links included in the text message to public sites such as this one. It may subject others to malware if they click on it or, in some cases, it may reveal personal information posted on the target site of the link. Links that are a domain followed by a string of characters and digits (e.g., "somedomain.com/AbC1d34q") are specific to the text recipient. If the link is followed, the sender will know and assume the intended recipient clicked on it, which may lead to more texts being sent.

ReportFraudFTC.gov - H. Coulter| 1 replyThanks for the tips. Although I wonder if the advice is more for the US. The FTC is a US enforcement agency, correct? In any event, I also got a text from “Leslie” about high paying jobs in my area and a link. Needless to say, deleted it without responding or clicking the link.

- Nimrod replies to H. Coulter
Yes, you are right in that the link I left to report to is for the US, and I erred in not looking at the top of the page to see where the area code is located. For that I apologize.H. Coulter wrote:Although I wonder if the advice is more for the US.
Apparently the link for Canada would be reportcyberandfraud.canada.ca which takes one to the "Report Cybercrime & Fraud" web page run by the RCMP.
The advice to report texts to 7726 is still good, as it is supported by most phone service providers in the US, Canada and the UK. - AnonymText from Leslie Harden with a link saying to click to apply for high paying jobs in my area.

- Brian L.I got the following text 30 minutes ago: “Hi, this is Leslie Harden. I just received your resume and I have a few high paying full and part time jobs in your area that I think are a great match with your skills and experience. To get the process going, click (link).” I don’t know who Leslie Harden is, I haven’t applied for any jobs, and I don’t live in Alberta. This all adds up to a scam.

- Chris| 1 replyText saying “Hi Angie I wasn’t feeling good this morning”. Maybe a new scam using the same number?
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Nimrod replies to Chris
It is possible. Perhaps the "Leslie Harden" scam has become too well known and they are switching to a "lure text" scam to try and pull in potential victims.Chris wrote:Maybe a new scam using the same number?
As with the other texts, forward to 7726 (SPAM) and report to reportcyberandfraud.canada.ca. - DerekI had the exact same text except it started with “Hi Alice”. No way it’s an innocent wrong number text. It’s probably a lure text scam as suggested by Nimrod.

- Bob N.Text: “Hi Angie I wasn’t feeling good this morning”. I’m not Angie and didn’t know who this person was. A google search led me to this site. I blocked the number and deleted the text.
