Calling on behalf of the Calgary Police Association

Don't give money to this association.  They do no give you tax receipts for a charitable donation.  Anyone that cannot give you a receipt for your donation is suspicious.  Everyone trusts them because they say they are from the Police Association.  I did give them money once, and all I got was a stamp "received" on my invoice.  When I called to ask why no receipt they told me they don't provide one.  

If you want, when they call, ask if they give a receipt, and they will acknowledge that they will not.  It is not accepted as a charitable donation.

Got a call from this number today saying they are with the Calgary Police Association looking for money to send kids to the Stampede. I too gave them money once and then found out they MAY be a scam.

The Calgary Police Association Fund Raising should be ashamed of themselves.  VERY RUDE  and VERY PUSHY people on the phone.   As I have received phone calls from them before, and again DID NOT receive a tax receipt for any donation, I will not give any money to this cause.  HOWEVER, I very politely said that I was not interested in giving any money to this time.  The response I got was - "Really?" To which I replied, "Really I --." And he responded with, "Really - really - really"   I told him to stop interrupting and being rude as I was about to explain.  His response was that I was rude.  Unbelievable!!!  I was still polite, and thanked him for his call and hung up.   I have since called and reported him regarding his rudeness as they say the call is recorded.  I bet I don't get a call back.   Why would they have people like this?  High pressure sales?  Guess what - keep it up and they will have a hard time getting any money.  

Sorry to tell you this since you already got taken in the past....THESE ARE NOT from any police association. You've been had.  They come on line sounding very authoritarian or militaristic so you will think you are talking to the police. It's all part of the act. You contributed to some criminals annual income not to anything they claimed (like disabled kids).

Apparently it is successful, judging by the number of contributors to this site who report having given in the past.

Have a talk with yourself and make a rule that you will never donate to anything via telephone or door-to-door soliciting. Then never break that rule.

I just got a call from this number, and I relate to every single comment posted here. The guy was rude, Inwas surprised they know my name. This time they were asking for money for kids who are unable to celebrate christmas... The surprising thing that he said its a toy drive and when I said I can sure send a box of toys he was like "No No we dont want toys we want financial aid, and the police will buy the toys" so I told him Ill call u back coz am busy right now he said "we will call u and hung up on me" -_-

Your invoice is the receipt for taxes.

Read these blogs and we are getting repeated calls also. At least three times a day for the last 11/2 months.
I was stupid enough to send a donation once to the so called Police Association to help kids to go to the stampede.
No tax receipt and I also phoned the Police association about the repeated calls. I was told they do not do this.
This actually happened in 2013 so they are still operating. I was given a address in Lake Bonavista to send the donation.
I don't remember the exact address or the Phone # . Lately we have been getting these calls from the above number but will not answer any number we don't recognize or there is no name attached. I hope they catch whoever is doing this .

I received a phonecall from this number - the number was clearly displayed on my call display.  The caller was male and said that he represented the Calgary Police Service and they were looking for donations to support kids at Christmas.  I felt immediately suspicious so I asked if they have a website that I can go to to make a donation.  The caller said NO, they don't have a website; this is a big warning flag for me, especially from an organization as big as the Calgary Police Service.  I declined to make a donation.  
I immediately phoned the Calgary Police Service Non-Emergency Line (403-266-1234) and they are not aware of any fundraiser currently in progress to support children at Christmas... therefore...
THIS IS FRAUDULENT CALL - DO NOT CONTRIBUTE MONEY !!!

I got a call today and I looked up the number. The person is calling from their residence in Douglas land SE calgary. I searched on the calgary police website and they state that they do not solicit for donations over the phone or door to door.
