- Guy| 6 repliesThey called, I answered. They claimed to be some hotel/travel company and said I won some trip to Florida. They were very long winded with the details. The had my name, DoB and a very old home address of mine. The claimed I had registered on some site (to quote "Facebook", "Google", "Hotmail") and they were gonna charge me some 580$USD to secure this trip for 4 people worth some $3000. Apparently sponsored by Disney?
I got transfered to verify my details, they said they'd send me an email and send a travel package in the mail BUT I had to verify the first 4 digits of my Visa card.
Quote, "In order to verify your information and forward you the details we have to verify the card number on file. Our records show it's a 16 digit Visa number starting with 45. Please verify the first 4 digits." If you know anything about credit cards, they are all 16 digits, and nearly all Visa cards start with 45. Also verifying a card by the first 4 digits is ridiculous.
I said "No" and she went on some spiel about how they have some secure connections with major card companies, etc then promptly asked "Whats the first 4 digits of your card number". I'd say No and each time she'd repeat that and then promptly ask for the first 4 digits. This went on for a while, me getting more and more verbose about how this sounds like a scam, etc. She promised to give me a confirmation number and their toll-free number and agent extension, etc - If I give her the first 4 digits of my card.
Eventually, I got through to her that I'm not interested in paying 600$ for some random trip even if it wasn't a scam and she gave up "Ok, I'll pass along your trip to the next person". Told her to have a nice day.- Call type: Telemarketer
- ColleenThe continue to call about winning a trip. I was polite at first but no I am rude and have asked every time to take us off their list but they continue weekly calls. If I had her close i would smack the face off the girl on other end

- DeniseMy cell phone just rang from this number and then quit, no one there... very annoying :(

- Mikaela| 1 replySaid I had won a Disney cruise, never even entered a contest like that
- Caller: Travel company
- Ashley replies to MikaelaThey said the same thing to me and asked if I could travel in the next 12 months...scam if I ever knew one!
- EmilyJust called. When I answered they said "Hi, Emily and Melissa?". I don't know a Melissa. She revised and just said my own name, and continued with "You must be excited for your vacation!"
Now I just booked a vacation, so I was curious. So I asked which vacation she is referring to.
She got scrambled up and said "oh, uh.. okay... uh... wrong number" and hung up. - JustinI got a call today from this number 4038793790 giving offers for trip to florida and asking for 299usd membership fee and asking for a 3 digit number behind my credit card. the caller was very persistent, i told her several times that I dont have my card with me, all she replied was, take your time to verify that 3 digit number I am paid by the hour. ... GUYS THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM DONT FALL FOR THIS [***]. ONCE THEY GET THAT 3 DIGIT IN THE BACK, YOUR CREDIT IS HISTORY.

- Heather replies to GuyThe exact thing happened to me tonight. I've gotta say, they sounded pretty legit at first. But I kept asking what the catch was, and when I did she (first Kayden then Demi) rambled on about how there was no catch and starting listing for the 4th time all the perks apparently included. They had a lot of my information already on file while is actually frightening.
I kept telling them I did not have any cards starting with those numbers and Demi just kept repeating herself over and over again asking me to verify the last 4 digits of my card.
Me "I don't have any card like that."
Demi "Just to remind you this is an all inclusive trip worth over $3500 and we just need you to verify the last four digits of your card."
Me "Like I said, I don't have any card like that or any information on me anyways."
Demi "Just to remind you this is an all inclusive trip worth over $3500 and all we need from you is to verify the last four digits of your card."
I am not sure how they have so much information from me or why, but this is most definitely a scam; I suggest to everyone that you ignore what they say and ask for all your information to be deleted from their files.
Do not trust! - eddietelMy wife answered and a heavily accented woman said they had a package for me. Then she asked for my wife's name, at this point I spoke and the woman asked if I was (my name). I asked what it was about, she said they had a package for me. I terminated the call and told them to not call again. This is a Calgary (southern Alberta) area code. I do not live there.
- Caller: Scammer
- leo can man scanner locatorI just whish that the phone company providing the service to these scammers would take action for unlawful use of phone services. Apparently you can pay the 95 cents and get a report of name address etc. But they the scammers probably have away around that too.
- Caller: ??????
- Cm replies to GuySame thing more or less happened. I'd like to know how they got any of my info... They asked to verify my address and I said I don't live there. They asked me my new address and I said I just got out of jail and haven't found a place yet. They asked how they had my old address and I said "I don't know, how did you get any of my information?" Then they hung up ...
