Just got the same voice message as everyone else from Robert Frost.  I asked for written proof of the loan (which they say was already mailed to me but I've never ref's anything).  She said she couldn't mail anything because they are not a collection agency.   They are a legal mediation company.   Lol.  She said she would send me the court papers & wished me luck.  I will bet $1000 I NEVER receive abything

Legal Mediation keeps calling my number. They have not left a message because I turned my voice-mail off.   they call from 470-238-2602 and 4044157979. The first time they called from 470-2382602.A woman told me I will be arrested for check fraud because I did not pay the loan. The Company, they said was Advance America. When I tried to say I don owe a loan, she tried to out talk me, I hung up and turned off my voice mail. That is when they started calling from 4044187979.

last week it was Robert Frost. today I got a call from Investigator Jessica Spencer legal mediator saying that my case came down and that I am a suspect in a criminal investigation associated with my checking account and a payday loan. says she wanted to try to keep this matter out of the courts she could talk to the prosecuting attorney to help me work out a deal to keep me from being arrested and prosecuted for check fraud. I had to tell her several times I could hardly hear her for all the people talking in the background..I asked her why I never received any letters in the mail regarding this she stated I was sent emails told her I never got any emails. I asked her who the prosecuting attorney was and she refused to give me that information says the attorneys name is confidential. the more questions I asked the more her professional voice turned to "street". told her I would call her back after talking to my attorney.. how do I get these people to stop? they do this every year around this time..

Rules

1.  Warrants are only issued by judges on the basis of applications by duly constituted law enforcement officials and on the basis of evidence showing probable cause that a crime has been committed.  Judges DO NOT ISSUE WARRANTS TO DEBT COLLECTORS!  There is no arrest for civil debt, civil debt is a civil matter.   No police, warrants, jail or arrests involved.

3.  Do not pick up on calls you don't recognize.  Don't call these people back, don't talk to them, do not give them any information and do not send them any money or agree to.

This is basically an extortion attempt so you should  got to your local police and make a complaint.  Extortion IS a crime.  You are basically a victim or potential victim of a serious crime.  Report it to the police.

You can't really stop them from initiating their scam, but you can protect yourself with a call blocker.    Also don't pick up on calls you don't recognize.  

Only police and public prosecutors can get involved in investigating a crime.   Being in debt in an ordinary civil case is not a crime. This person is pretending to be some sort of public prosecutor or police person.   She's literally impersonating a public safety official.  And she's using threat of criminal prosecution to collect on a civil debt.  This in itself is a serious crime.  There's no prosecutor involved.  And you could quickly find this out by calling the local DA's office on your own.  DA's name is public record.  You can also find out if any cases are pending against you.  

You are therefore the victim of a crime of extortion of a potential victim.  I'd go to the police and report them.  Public prosecutors have nothing to do with debt collectors.  Debt is a civil matter.

I asked for advice not to be treated like this I work at a hospital ,I thought I could get some help but I guess I was wrong never will I apply  to anything else on the internet thanks for nothing !!!!!

who are u to talk to me that way just like everybody else I jus wanted to know what was going on u have no right to judge me im jus trying to find out whats truly goin on maybe jus maybe I was given some bad info that's why I got  on line for advice not to be judged

Last week he was calling me and calling himself Danielle Steele, this week he is Robert Frost, wonder who he will be next week!

Total scam, totally ignore them!

4044187979 has been calling me for a week now with the same message as others.  Robert Frost has called but I actually talked to Candace Brown and Carrie Sullivan.  The same story I took out a payday loan in March 2012 ( which I did not) and then today it was changed to March 2012.  Cash Central was the name of the company supposedly it happened with.  The thing that bothers me is they have all my info... social, date of birth, bank name and last four digits of bank account.  When I told them that no money from Cash Central had been deposited in my account they told me it did not matter they had my info and I was guilty so either pay or be prosecuted.  I get this kind of mess every few months then start getting calls that I have been approved for loans for which I never applied.  I even had someone call and say that they were from the US Government and if I would give them my bank account info then they would deposit $15,000.00 into my account because I was such a good citizen.  LOL.  Luckily I am not that gullible.

This damn scam artist named Robert frost tried to pull the same crap with our phone number. this is the third call today. I called it bak with a prepay cell and it says it is the fraud unit..  lt also said that on caller id at our house.. lol..

Legal Mediation 404-418-7979 has called me everyday for a week
i finally answered and aske her name and company name/  after she told me i was being charged with check fraud/ payday loan fees/ I need an atty...she tells me she is under no legal obligation to tell me who she is or the company name and hung up.
I will now be blocking this number...I do not owe any money to any pay day loan store!

One thing's for sure, this company has interesting literary tastes.   Robert Frost and Danielle Steele.   These scammers must like to read.

Well, even if your caller WASN'T a scammer - which they are - lawyers and law firms who work as or on behalf of debt collectors MUST comply with federal debt collection laws, so yes, they'd still have to mail proof of debt/proof they can collect said debt.  Oh, and per your wish, you just made some very easy money - 'cause you won't receive anything! :)

Actually, it was the statement   " I called the company that I originally owed and was told that my case was sent to the state for a worthless check"--that gave you away.    

There's no way a defaulted loan or civil debt  can magically transform itself into a bad check prosecution.  For there to be a bad check prosecution SOMEBODY ACTUALLY HAS TO WRITE A BAD CHECK!  

But this is a theme of most of the kitchen-table debt scammers you read about on this site.   Somebody owed money (maybe) on an old loan and suddenly the loan transforms itself into a bad check criminal prosecution.  Total nonsense.
