Some collection agency looking for relative leavining messages on my cell butchering the person's name and asking them to have their lawyer call to settle the matter with a file number to reference.  Uh huh sounds like another bogus collection call, not passing the message along.  They never said what company they were calling with.

Literally just spoke to a Bobby, 05/08/13 @2:15pm. I asked him point blank what type of business he was with, the name and location. He said they are not an investigators office like someone else suggested. He stated that his was with the collection agency  Humphries and Associates in GA like gb said. I spoke to him, verified my debt and made arrangements. End of story, not an investigator that can issue warrants, that was a load of BS that person typed.

No criminal acts can be brought against you for your debt. You fell for the scam and wrongful tactics this company uses to get you to pay your debt.

Bobby likes to tell you the company is going to forward the matter on to file criminal charges on you and depending on the amount of the debt, it could result in a felony. Using VERY WRONGFUL TACTICS....  They can't file criminal charges against you for your debt

We are not a fraud I never threatened felonies It is not a lawful tactic. It is funny the lengths people go through not to pay their debts. I do not have a glamorous job, and  it is no secret people do not like calls about there debts.  All our conversations are recorded and I am not a crook. I am just doing my job. If anyone is a crook it is you people who take out loans, do not pay, hide, close accounts, switch numbers, pretend not to be yourself, lie about arrangements, give me a hard time , and just do not even think about paying back the monies you borrowed. Loans are not gifts; and for the record people do get served SOMETIMES after collections are exhausted, but that does not go for all cases, we actually do you a service by liquidating the loan before it compiles and you no longer have a chance to pay what you can afford. America would not be where it is at now if we pay our debts: Americans seem to can find everything else to do but pay their debts, like blog about a hard working father who is just doing his job; this is sad that you can be angry at someone who is only doing what you do, go to work everyday, and do what the boss tells you. You should do the right thing and pay your debts you never know when you will need more money and set good examples to your kids and others. Most people who are in debt parents were in debt and their children will be and grandchildren will be. Someone has to stop the cycle. This job has made me more aware of my debts that I now seek to pay. If i offend you I am sorry! I AM ONLY  DOING MY JOB.

"America would not be where it is at now if we pay our debts".

Where exactly would that be, prey tell?

You call us "crooks" despite the fact that debts are civil and not criminal matters---yet claim you "have never threatened felonies?"

    Hypocrite.

Furthermore, if you want to play the "blame game", place it where it belongs---on Wall Street and the TBTF banks who sold us (including YOU) down the river during the "Great Recession".

    Have a nice day!

Maybe you should check the statute of limitations for each state. Know your rights, people. Whether is was at one time a legitimate debt or not, once it is out of the statute of limitations you are not obligated to pay. These scumbags buy OLD (ten years or more) debt that has been written off long ago and try to collect on it. It's funny the lengths crooks go to to try and get people to pay money they no longer owe!

What bothers me about these "collection calls" is they are cryptic which makes them unbelievable. Tell me who you are collecting for when you leave me a message. I almost got pulled in by a scam telling me I was going to go to jail if I didn't pay them $500 because my social security number was being investigated for fraud and that I would have the police at my door within two hours if I didn't pay them. I paniced because I have a job where that kind of an arrest would have cost me my job. If it wasn't for a purchase mistake at walmart (I bought a visa money card instead of a money transfer card) and my mother (who I worry about falling prey to things like this) I found out through this sight it was a bogus call. All I could think about was jail and losing my job.

If creditors really want to remind us that they want paid then release the debt collectors to reveal a little more about their harrassing phone calls to the consumer. I don't answer or return calls when I am given a time limit on when I should call back (like this company called and told me I had until noon the next day to call or I would have a bad outcome on my case). They called my home phone once and work once (same day), what if I had been out of town or in the hospital.

All I want is to know who is calling me, whay they are calling and who they are trying to collect the debt for.

Well you just got a complaint filed with 12 FDCPA violations by me.  I am quite sure I owe a couple hundred bucks to someone but your office not only refuses to tell me to who but also threatens criminal prosecution and calls after being told not to on a cell phone.  There's so much more.  I have all of it--every, single voice mail.  My little 200-300 dollar debt is about to make me several grand.  Idiot.
