checked out a craigslist job and a woman named Linda David sent me this number 404-884-8697. She emailed me and said she was hearing impaired. And that she lives in GA, looking for a personal assistant. So I guess it's fake!

Yes. I know a whole lot about this person named Linda David. She did a job on me as well which she had me to supply the material on my exspence and did not pay me nothing.

texting me and asking me to text back. Anyone who does not call direct/asking about craigslisting is a scam.

This is from a job posting on Craigslist. You can tell from the initial email that it was poorly written and the website may or may not be fake because some of the links worked some didn't but when I found the actual company online there was a strict hiring process. I replied with a slew of questions and the person I'm in contact with told me to text each question one by one but couldn't respond to my email?????

I was able to send email, attach my resume, and responded through my phone.

The person I've been speaking to is a Gage Danny that is supposed to be a group manager.

This was not a phone call, this number was given as a contact number for the position to text. Which is definitely the red flag.

I texted this guy and sent my resume. I am trying to figure out if it is a scam. I think it is, but have you had any further contact with this guy? Should I just quit while I am ahead? Always too good to be true...

Just a "word to the wise" about ANY craigslist ad ... I ALWAYS use a "junk" e-mail account with NO NAME or anything about me attached to it.  Totally anonymous.

Any ad that is leaving the company name out, strange phone numbers, requiring only texts etc., NEVER, EVER send resumes with info about yourself, NEVER call or text the number or anything UNTIL you make an e-mail contact to them through the craigslist email that is on the ad FIRST !

If you don't get a reply, that is a hint it is a scam, obviously.  If you get a response asking you for a bunch of personal info, AGAIN ... that has scam written all over it ......  etc., etc.

I am NO PRO .... but just from experience I have learned there is excessive scam on craigslist and until I have some sort of into in my hands FIRST that will comfort me in feeling the ad is truly legit, then I will make further contact if I feel it is OK.  Otherwise, if there is any hint of "no good" to it ... I leave it alone and by not having "fallen" for their ad from the start and sending all their requests first .... then finding out it is too late .... all is OK.

If I DO get some info that appears to be legit in a response, I will ALWAYS try to research the BBB or other places over the internet to see if there are postings about the place that gives info as to how legit they are or scamming etc., BEFORE I decide if I want to make my next contact in return.

GOOD LUCK to everyone.  Craigslist overall is good most of the time, but one must be careful for their own sake to the fullest.

Did they go further....like any type identity theft?  I fell for it too.  The expense and sent a resume, but have not done any download of any type.  I have just found out about this being a scam, so I have not replied back to their text today.

I have been communicating with a woman from this number. She goes by nicoleconnie. She says that she will pay me $600 a week to post job offer adds on Craigslist in different cities. My job is to post to 4 different cities everyday. I am to get paid on Fridays. I will continue to do this until Friday and will let everyone know if I get paid or not. I have given her my PayPal email address.  This is the only info she really has about me. I will keep you updated.
