Middle Eastern accent on the guy claiming to want to help regarding regarding a criminal action. The message was a recording.

This guy called implying there was some judiciary action I had to take care off by calling him back because "ignoring it would have disastrous consequences". This is the third time this guy calls in the last 3 months, always same message, barely understandable because of the heavy accent of the caller. Obviously a scam in the making. I wondered if it's the kind of # when you call they charge you $ 500 per minute and since you are the one calling, your tel. company can't do a thing about it. I would just love to kick the ass of this b...

A rather "grainy" pre-recorded phone message from a man with an Indian accent identifying himself as Dennis Gray.  Saying that he is calling regarding an "enforcement action" by the U.S. Treasury.   A quick check shows that this phone number is a VOiP [internet] number.  The "404" Area code is in the Atlanta, GA area.

IRS Scam from "Dennis Quaid".  Do people actually fall for this crap?

Clearly this is one of those fake IRS scam calls. It's a badly done, pre-recorded message from an Indian-accented guy who identifies himself as "Dennis Quaid" (yeah, sure). He warns that the IRS and US Treasury are moving forward with litigation against me, and if I don't respond, I will be hauled before a magistrate and could face jail time. Sure. Right. Because that's exactly how the system works in the United States.

I think it's more like: "Pranash" in Bangalore is trying to scam the gullible, using a cell phone registered in Atlanta. Seriously. This is not how the IRS would contact you, people. Don't fall for it.

The scum bag called me today.  But he did not know that I am an accountant. I told him it was a scam, and that I was going to report him to the IRS / Treasury.  He got nervous. He started talking really fast and hung up.  Here is the link you can use to report this number to the Treasury.

Called, but didn't identify himself or indicate who he was calling for.  Just said that if I didn't return the call there would be judicial consequences.  Very difficult to understand.  Strong Middle Eastern Accent.

How can I stop these scam calls!!!!  It is so obvious that they didn't use a company name, name a specific person in the household.  Really should throw these people in jail.  What a waste of time!!!

Same as the other reports.  I didn't answer (unknown name), but the thickly accented male left a message about an effort to contact me regarding legal action being taken by the Treasury Department.  Of course, left his number for a call back to respond to this extremely serious action.  Funny, but I have saved 4 previous messages from the person dating back almost a year.  Will save this one too.  I wonder, however, how they get my phone number?

I have a phone that can save blocked numbers. I know it is a difficult exercise, but at least when I get another call from his number, it will block it. I have a long list of blocked numbers now.

Got a call from this number this afternoon. Similar message as those reported above.  Male with Indian accent. Left a message threatening 'an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury.' "Ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal offense. Call me (at same number received call) to help us help you."

Don't try to engage the caller in conversation. Best thing to do when you get these calls is to submit a complaint with the FTC/Do Not Call Registry here: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint...check.aspx
