I had same experience, after I answered I could hear background noise but they would never speak.

Came up on my caller ID as SCAM LIKELY. Didn't answer and no message left.

They called and a woman claimed that ____ levels (I couldn't understand her) were measured to be high in my area so the government was paying for me to get a cancer screening, and she just asked when I was available. I said, "Are you joking? How did you get my number?" And she put me on hold so I hung up.

This number called my cell phone this afternoon. I didn't answer but called the number from a different phone. I got a recorded message that said the person at that extension was not available and the mailbox was full. Most likely a scam. Others have made mention of a scam pretending to be from a police officer's association. We have received that scam on our land line several times. Each time the caller is a deep-voiced, articulate, authoritative-sounding male asking for one of us by our first names. Your local law enforcement should be notified of this scam in your area so that a warning notice can be placed in your local newspaper.

This number is calling me and I have a number registered on the national do not call registry.

Fear mongering about high rate of cancer in my area.

Call purporting to be American Laboratory.  I said I am a lead laboratory auditor for the US Department of Commerce and could I help them.  Instant hangup.

Just received a call and this time they claimed to be giving out free cancer screenings sponsored by the "government". It was definitely automated because I asked who they were trying to reach and they keep saying it was Amanda from my area. It was also clearly an Indian speaking. We have a Hindu temple in my town because the population is so high so I know the difference. Ignore the call.

Did now answer the call.

Automated message about a getting a free cancer screening sponsored by the government or whatever. Hung up midway through.

constantly calling

Called, rang through, no message left. Most likely scam or telemarketers

Called at 7:15 p.m. on Friday evening, caller ID showed the number and "Atlanta".  Caller sounded live when I said hello, then there was a pause and a message:  "We are calling from (unintelligible name) laboratories, then the message became distorted and began echoing.

Called. Didn't leave message. Tried calling back & got a recorded message from Verizon: "Number not in service."

Scam calling on Sunday afternoon!  That was my 1st red flag then the 2nd red flag was when i restricted my number (☆674049903007) & called back. .... it doesn't even ring....just a short sound as if connected.  These calls are increasing every week.  I can't believe it's come to this sort of harrassment and i don't have any more space available to download an app to screen these out.

Cancer screening.

Me and my husband both received calls from this number. Never answered but I attempted to call back. The line didn't even ring, it just was quiet for a few seconds and said this person could not be reached. Funny thing is, me and my husband have completely different number. So definitely some type of spam caller.

Got a call from this number but no message was left.  It disconnected as soon as the answering machine kicked in.
