Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one is going to be arrested for defaulting on a loan.  And you're absolutely correct - this is a scam.

They have been calling and harrassing me and when I finally picked up they were rude,  They said that I would be arrested  by my county.  I told them I m calling my lawyer and the they tried to hang up on me without answering my questions.

I received another call, from Karen Rodgers.  This sounds like a recording as the exact same verbiage is used on both messages.

Same person again calling. So tired of these B.S. calls!! It needs to stop!!!

These people do not stop. They called again today and this time it was Shelly McNeill. The caller I'd also said Legal Mediation again. They keep switching it up between Karen Rogers and Shelly McNeill. These people are not very bright. I am going to again report them to my Attorney General in Michigan. Maybe they will try to help. It is worth a try.

The phrase "my name was going to be downloaded today in my county database " is a flashing red light for a debt scammer.  Don't return the calls.  Don't give them any information.   That phrase is a sure sign they are going to try to scare you if they do talk to you.

If you have received a call stating:

1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
7.  Anything similar to above,
 a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
 b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities

Karen Rogers name shows up on other scam cases on 800notes.   They like the AKA Karen for some reason.

Same stupid phrase trying to scare you  "financial crime division unit and charges being downloaded in my county today".

Total scam artists.

They love to throw out that "warrant" nonsense.  As if judges would issue warrants to debt collectors.

I had the same people call me today and they told me the same thing . i had a 300.00 pay day loan from 2012 that i never paid off ! ive never had a pay day loan and they told me i owe 798.00 now with charges  n fees but would settle today only for 250.00 with a debit or credit card . Weird thing is they knew everything about me , i didnt pay but it was so weird .

Glad you recognize the scam.

They call you again, tell them that you'll file charges of extortion with the local police.  Which is all this really is, if there's no legal debt.

Yes it is a scam.  Someone is trying to scare you into calling them back and paying them money.  Don't return their calls.  Don't talk to them.  Block their calls.
