- Elspeth replies to TraciDebt is civil, not criminal, so no one is going to be arrested for defaulting on a loan. And you're absolutely correct - this is a scam.
- bsy2They have been calling and harrassing me and when I finally picked up they were rude, They said that I would be arrested by my county. I told them I m calling my lawyer and the they tried to hang up on me without answering my questions.
- Call type: Debt collector
- bc replies to ABNo bank would. Phishing scam!!!
- Anonymous replies to StephanieI received another call, from Karen Rodgers. This sounds like a recording as the exact same verbiage is used on both messages.
- sueSame person again calling. So tired of these B.S. calls!! It needs to stop!!!
- ABThese people do not stop. They called again today and this time it was Shelly McNeill. The caller I'd also said Legal Mediation again. They keep switching it up between Karen Rogers and Shelly McNeill. These people are not very bright. I am going to again report them to my Attorney General in Michigan. Maybe they will try to help. It is worth a try.
- Caller: Legal Mediation
- CWG40 replies to mari| 2 repliesThe phrase "my name was going to be downloaded today in my county database " is a flashing red light for a debt scammer. Don't return the calls. Don't give them any information. That phrase is a sure sign they are going to try to scare you if they do talk to you.
Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know
If you have received a call stating:
1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6. Authorities are coming to arrest you
7. Anything similar to above,
a. Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
b. Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
* File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency). [abstracted from another site] - CWG40 replies to PoohKaren Rogers name shows up on other scam cases on 800notes. They like the AKA Karen for some reason.
Same stupid phrase trying to scare you "financial crime division unit and charges being downloaded in my county today".
Total scam artists. - CWG40 replies to LindaThey love to throw out that "warrant" nonsense. As if judges would issue warrants to debt collectors.
- CWG40 replies to mick* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Theses people are impersonating public officials and a police report should be made. - CWG40 replies to LH* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

They call you again, tell them that you'll file charges of extortion with the local police. Which is all this really is, if there's no legal debt. - juanita plummer| 1 replywhat the hell is this some type of scam...some man named robert marshall said i needed to call back and speak to him about an investigation.
