I received my first call from this number today.
The caller did leave a voice mail. After about 20 seconds of silence, the message started: "We've made several attempts to contact you and for whatever reason, we have not heard back from you. It is very important that we speak with you and we urge you to press one to speak with a representative immediately or call us back today at 405-896-7992. Again, this is a very important matter that you need to deal with today. Please call us back at 405-896-7992 or press one to speak with a representative immediately. Thank you."

I got the same message.  It's the first time I've been called from that particular number, but I'm sure it's just one more spoofed phone number coming from the same people who have been calling and leaving no message or messages about how important it is that I call them back.  I have no reason to call back, nor will I ever do so.

On Dec 1, 2015, I received the same recorded message from the number 717-798-3125, with a caller ID of Harrisburg, PA.  Earlier in the day, they called from 1-405-896-7992 (the number they tell you to call back) with a caller ID of "unknown."  When they called on Nov 26, from 405-896-7992, the caller ID was Oklahoma City, OK.

The message said I needed to "deal with this today."  I did.  I ignored them, just as I ignore all scammers who don't leave messages or leave recordings using scare tactics.

I have been in contact with the company. On Monday they were to send me a copy of debt from an online payday loan. I never received, so I contacted them yesterday again, and the woman did email me a "validation of debt". I have now heard 3 different stories as to amounts and payments that I have made, supposedly. Yesterday the woman I spoke with was "Rebecca Bradford" and she offered me a supposed settlement until I asked for payment proof. After that she began calling me nasty names, telling me that I am a terrible person, etc. I am from NE and contacted the State Banking Office, who sent me to state statute 45-901 (Delayed Deposit Services Licensing Act). I also googled Mesa Financial, and the internet says it is in Lawrence, KS. I then contacted the number provided and it was disconnected. I contacted the Kansas Banking Office and she found the same info I did, but Kansas has no record of them at all. After that I called the NE Secretary of State office and this company(either of them) have a license to work in NE. That office sent a certified letter to  them to cease and desist operations pertaining to NE. I don't know how other states work, but that is how my day went looking into this, In NE installment loans max out at 16% interest and they are practicing illegal collection tactics.

They called again this morning with Unknown Name as the caller ID and left no message.  I have received a call from the same number several times.  Once the caller ID was Oklahoma City.  Other times, I have received the same recorded message from 717-798-3125, with a caller ID of Harrisburg, PA, saying to call back 405-896-7992.  Sometimes they leave the message saying I need to "deal with this today," and sometimes they leave no message.

Also, within less than two hours, I will receive calls from other numbers leaving no messages.  Twice, I have received a call with a Mali area code (223) that leaves no message, less than 2 hours from the time I ignored a call from this (405) number.  Others on 800notes say that the (223) scammer claims to be Google or Microsoft and says that their computer has been infected and if they'll give them access to it, they can fix it over the internet.  I've also received other calls claiming to be an electric company that does not operate in my area or a survey taker--all within 2-3 hours of this call.  Then, I won't get any calls for 2-3 days (once 2 weeks went by with no calls at all--their robodialer must have been broken) and then calls started up again in within a 2-3 hour time frame of each other.  That is why I believe these scammers are either the same one using different numbers and different scare tactics or are working together with other scammers.  This pattern has gone on for years.

I have NEVER had a payday loan.  These guys are just scamming for money or personal info in any illegal, deceptive way that they can.

The exact same recording and it's calling throughout the day.  I refuse to return a message for an unidentified company.  Smells like a scan.  There should be a way to sue companies such as this but I'm pretty sure they have and reopen under different names and continue to harrass consumers.  Can I get "Congress" to outlaw this mess!  It should be illegal and PUNISHABLE to attempt to collect on false debts!

I had a call from 740-200-4781 and caller ID indicated the call was from Delaware, Ohio.  The practice is called Caller ID spoofing that indicates to the receiver of a call that the originator of the call is somewhere else other than where they really are.  So your caller was probably not n Harrisburg, PA.  I got the same call today and was told to call 405-896-7992.  Well, I do not return anonymous phone calls.  These types of scammers buy old loans, both delinquent and/or paid off, for pennies on the dollar.  Usually they are not registered to do business in the country and the banks they supposedly send your payments to are usually fake banks.  I dealt with some of these situations over the past few months.  I reported them to the FTC and my state attorney general's office.  In every instance, I was told they were fake collection companies and not to deal with them at all.  Don't even return their calls.

I got a phone call from 901-881-8689 and they left a message for me to call the 405-896-7992. Of course, I did not call them back. Is there anyway we can stop these calls?  It seems I've been plagued with a lot of these fake scam debt collection calls, and it's really maddening.

I've recieved several of the same recorded messages from some meth head missing half his teeth.  When I did press 1' it transferred a few times and some women asked if I was calling about a mailed notice or phone message.  I told her you tell me, you're the one who keeps calling and she just hung up.

First off the caller ID shows 617-963-0811 Cambridge MA...but google shows it belongs to "body history.com" a porn site.

If you call the number the A.H. tells you to call (405-896-7992) late at night it rings forever and finally says "the wireless customer is not available"....yeah sounds legit to me.

I also received a call from 765-588-0834.  The caller ID indicates the call is coming from Lafayette, Indiana.  Left message to call 405-896-7992.  The caller ID number is probably a spoofing number.  That's where a call appears to come from one place and is more than likely coming from another place, even overseas.  Don't call them back and don't give them any personal information.

    Please don't get scammed
For months, I have received the same message about "a very important matter that you need to deal with today" and to call back 405-896-7992 from numbers with caller IDs of Oklahoma City; Harrisburg, PA; Memphis, TN; Charleston, WV; and Lafayette, IN; and even from 405-896-7992 with Unknown as the caller ID.  So, I would say that those numbers are definitely spoofed.  More importantly, I have no outstanding debt.  I work in the legal field. I've been background checked by Homeland Security for employment.  I've also had a credit report run by a federal agency.  I just had a credit report run from all three reporting bureaus and my credit record is spotless.  Please do not call these people back and please do not let them scare you into paying money or giving them any more information on you than they already have.

Call blocker might be of some help.  Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd.  Or where there is no caller ID.
