SCAM

Text from Sovereign Bank asking me to call.  Call to that number from another phone was answered by a recorded message saying my debit card was locked.  Assumed they would want my card number so hung up.  Callback number listed as originator of text was 860-844-7177 which is no longer in service.  Assume it was a phishing attempt.

Philadelphia here. Got the same scam message today. I don't have a Sovereign account.

The jerks asked for me to call regarding my Sovereign account information--watch out, it's scamtastic Summer, take two. never give your account info out--the warning signs are if they ask for your bank account number & personal info, which your bank would NEVER do.

I called the 877 number on the back of my sovereign card...it is a total scam...the woman told me they are aware of the problem and working on it but she said DO NOT CALL and DO
NOT REPLY!

Wow, I can't believe everyone just got this a few hours ago on their phone, the same exact txt msg as I got (even around the same time 11:39am est).  I knew it was a scam (not a member of Sovereign), but I just can't believe so many of these are going around.

How stupid !  My first thought "Banks don't text" and not even MY bank has my cell phone number!
And it's Sunday on a holiday weekend
And I don't have anything with Sovereign bank
And the bank name has hyphens in it

I am glad I am not the only one that got this text message on a cell phone.  I have never in my life had Sovereign Bank.

Same as everyone else. No acct at sovereign. Also feel like a bank could spell thie name without extra hyphens. Haha.

Received same text as others

My wife,Sons and I too were texted from the 406 area code number.  Since neither of us have an account with Sovereign Bank none of us responded to the text.  However, the more I thought about this the more I was convinced that it was a scam.  Hopefully they will find the people responsible.
