No one speaks when I pick up the phone.

It's an interactive voice response (IVR) caller attempting to obtain donations for the Florida Police and Troopers Association. I called back to request they remove my number from their database. The IVR system is set to remove your number if you request it.

call came in on my caller ID as direct tv but it was not and when i stated that i wanted to be removed from the calling list the guy said thanks for not helping the police.

They hung up when I answered. It was unavailable when I called back!

I don't answer unknown, unavailable, or unsolicited calls. They didn't leave message. Caller ID said unknown name.

4:15 cst on Sunday afternoon, caller id said  Direct Tv.  Caller was actually Florida Police Association.  I was not very pleasant speaking to him, so probably now will get even more calls from them as revenge.

&pm call on sunday - CID listed as unknown - will not answer this type of "hidden" call . Left no message - go figure. MAJOR waste of time.

Call I received 10 minutes ago was the 6th one I've received that caller ID said Direct TV. All previous calls went to my answering machine with no message left.  I answered this one because I was about to call Direct TV customer service with a dropped channel problem. Upon answering and saying "hello" three times I heard a series of clicks and the a male voice came on the line saying he was Eric Cooper of the Florida Police Association. I quickly hung up.  It sure was NOT Direct TV.
