I just got a text that seemed to be sent via email (vtext.com). It asked for my account and PIN. Jerks.

I have four phones an my cell account and 3 of my numbers just received the same text.  I am in Hartford county

just got this today deleted it wish there was someway to stop all this

Same as everyone else above -- msg came 630 (ET) tonight. Came from vtext.com, which is Verizon's website to send out texts (where you can probably send out lots with one click).

Just got a text from 339222763@vtext.com. I'm in the Boston area. Not going to bother calling it.

Got a text from 78122335@vtext.com saying to call this number. Yeah, I don't think so!!

Got a text message from 78122335@vtext.com asking me to call this number.....delete

I got the same text here in Lynn, Mass and a friend got it too.  I deleted it.

just got a text from 27083262@vtext.com to call 407308556   not stupid enough to call OR text someone I don't know. just deleted

I received same message from 27083262@vtech.com. I did call 4073080056. This came in as a text message. So,I called the 407 number and without any I.d. As to who was directing this whole thing a voice just told me to push 1 because my " limited amount debit card had mistakenly been deactivated, to get it up and running again just push 1"
I have no such card, my number checker came back with red flags all over the place advising me this is a bunch based in Hong Kong scamming Americans. So, needless to say ,DO NOT push that "1" & delete the text message from your phone.

I got the message via text yesterday.  I suspect no one 'sold our numbers' to this scam outfit, we actually gave it to them. When you download an app to your smartphone, the fine print in the agreement states what you are allowing and frequently includes access to your personal info, contacts and photos, even take pics, record video, record audio, make calls etc.  This info is presented when you start a download on an android, and you can scroll through and read it, but you have to look it up in the app details in the app store on an I-phone.  Unfortunately, I'm finding this on just about all apps now.  I have very few on my phone and still got texted.  I called the number and got the 'your debit card has been limited, press1 to reactivate', so I pressed 1 to hear the next line, 'enter your 16 digit card number'.  Ha! NO!
