Yet another "Energy Company" asking if you'd press 1 if you want your rates to continue to go UP, and they will take you off their list.

It seems they use a new number just about every day, so you can only block the ones from yesterday.

Recorded call from this number (no name on caller id). They never identified themselves but claimed to be doing a energy survey and wanted to send a technician to my house. I pressed 1 to talk to a rep and she blurted out a name, I asked her FOUR times to repeat the company name and the best that I could get was United Energy Survey. They claimed to be working with my power company to get us up $3700 in rebates from the state and federal government for energy effiecient devices but then claimed they weren't trying to sell anything (yeah, right!)  I told her FOUR times to take our name off their calling lists but she kept saying "but don't you want to be more energy effiecient and save money?" and yammering about being green. I finally said "Are your going to take our name off your calling lists or do I have to make a complaint to the FTC?" Then she abruptly hung up!

This company calls us almost everyday (for the last 2 months). We are on the national do not call list and have asked to be removed from their list many many times. Last time they were United Electric. This time they were the National Resources Coalition. We file complaints with the FCC everytime and we have also filed complaints with FPL and our local police department. This company needs to be fined out of existance by the FCC for harrasment and not honoring the DNC.

    STRIKE BACK ANTI-TELEMARKETING SCRIPT
Before you start answering questions from a telephone solicitor, you must "qualify" the company as a potential prospect for a law suit. If, during the introductory pitch, the telemarketer indicates that they are working for a non-profit firm, or a survey company, hang up immediately. They are not subject to the law and are a waste of time.
Time of call: __ AM __ PM   DATE: __/__/__  (note: You can immediately sue for $500 if before 8AM or after 9PM)
        Qualifying Questions
    NOTES

1    What is your name?  (Refusal to answer is a $500 fine)

2    What is the name and address of the company you represent? (Refusal to answer is a $500 fine)

3    What is the company phone number? (Refusal to answer is a $500 fine)

4    Are you an employee of this company, or do you work for a telemarketing service? (If they work for a service, get the name, address, and phone number.)

5    Does your company have a pre-existing business relationship with me? (If "yes" skip the next question)

6    Do you conduct business or have other customers in my city? (your case is stronger if answer is "yes")

7    Does your company have a written call policy? ($500 fine if they say "No")

8    Will you send me a copy of your "Do Not Call" policy? ($500 fine if they say "No")

9    Does your company maintain a "Do Not Call" list? ($500 fine if they say "No")

10    Will you put my name on your "Do Not Call" list? ($500 fine if they refuse)

11    May I have your supervisor’s name and address?  (This will help expedite your claim).
WHO YOU CAN NOT SUE: 1) Non-Profit corporations, 2) Companies calling you at a place of business,   3) Companies that are not doing business in your area. 4) Companies that are conducting surveys.  Note: Some companies will disguise their sales pitch as a survey. In the event this happens you must elicit a frank admission that they are selling something. One way to do this is to get them to send you literature or an order form. Other companies will claim they are invulnerable because they are not "conducting business in your area." Obviously, if they call you at home, they are conducting business and are subject to the full force of the law.

I agree.  Enough already!  I literally receive a dozen or more calls a week on two different phone lines that have both been listed on the Do Not Call List.  They use different local numbers and I have hit the "2" button to be removed from their list.  Why can't this company be stopped and the owners be put in jail.

    What did the police say?

I live in Palm Beach County, Fl

National Electric Advisors is the most recent name they mentioned.  I F with them now by hitting "1" and then just letting a live operator say, "Hello....hello..." waste their FN time, like they waste mine!

    Truth about donotcall laws

Also remember that illegitimate companies and scam artists won't respect these lists.

Therefore once your enrollment goes into effect you should be extra careful of unsolicited telemarketing calls unless you know they come from a company with which you have a legitimate, established relationship

you file complaints with DONOTCALL.gov- click on file a complaint

Yes, I know.  The problem is the FTC isn't enforcing the law strongly enough (if at all).  Local police will sometimes gets involved because at this point it could be considered harassment.

    407-288-4168

    Hate Telemarketers
National Energy Coalition ... now telemarketing the Tampa FL area.  They are changing telephone numbers frequently and their caller ID's trace back to cell phones out of Clearwater FL.  But, spoofing/faking caller ID is easy to do.  Calling back to the numbers gets you to a voice mailbox.  They ignore all requests to stop calling and are not using the do-not-call lists.  They claim that they are not selling anything.

It is quite clearly a scam to get in the door to sell you something.  I will have a lot of fun with the "auditor" when he arrives next week. No, he won't get in the door or he might meet my buddy, "Louisville Slugger".

Their latest caller ID is 727-687-8869 ,

Just got a call from National Energy Coalition. They want to set appointment for home energy efficiency due to 3700 dollar government tax credit. She asked a few questions and said we did not qualify. Before we could say "Get us off your list" she hung up. I returned the call to 713-231-3472 and the recording said "the voice box is full". I believe there has been enough damage done by this company that a class action suit should be enforced. Keep us in mind when that happens.

Happy Thanksgiving to one an all!

Excellent details on immediatly demanding answers from THEM and to threaten them by reporting them.  To block them is fruitless due to the constant number change. Speak up everyone, this has got to stop before they trick someone into believing they represent a branch of FP &L.

The so called "National Energy Coalition" has been calling me every day or every other day for many weeks now. They ignore my requests to be removed from their call list. I told them today that I was going to report them to the Texas Attorney General's Office, and they hung up on me.
