Same scam as everyone else is reporting back in Feb.  You would have thought someone would have stopped this JO by now.  Not me, I am too busy to do anything.

Got the message left on my answering machine today.  I could swear he said, in an accent so heavy I could barely understand, that his name was Dennis Quaid.  I played along for a bit, just for fun, and kept on telling him I knew the IRS didn't work this way.  He tried to tell me they'd sent a registered letter to my address (which he knew), and I cheerfully told him I'd never signed for a registered letter.  He was presenting himself as some sort of law enforcement.  I only wish I'd thought to ask why he'd be calling me from Florida, when I live in Santa Fe.  He finally got so frustrated with my not taking his bait, that he hung up on me.

Received a call from this number obviously a recording.  At first it scared me but then I goggled it and found people getting the same calls today, 20 May 2016.  I called the number back but no answer.  This is a scam and I'm so sick and tired of calls like this.  I'm so  tempted to change my phone number ....very frustrated!!!!

I just got this call for the first time. It was obviously a recording...it played twice in my voicemail. Same guy in broken English saying he was calling from the US Treasury about a serious matter requiring my attention. 1st off, unless you are some kind of counterfeiter, the Treasury Dept. has no business calling you. Even if you were, it would be more likely the Dept. Of Justice would call. This idiot is trying to scare people into believing they owe the IRS. Trust me, I did at one point owe back taxes. If you do, no one calls you. They send letters...usually registered or certified mail, depending on how much they want to scare you into contacting them, lol.
I am so sick and tired of these stupid, harrassing calls. All I do all day is block calls. Anyone want to buy a very slightly used cell phone...cheap?? I'm sick to death of mine for this very reason.

You actually think this was a government employee?  If they were employed by the government wouldn't that BE their day job?  And people with accents are...dirtbags? This whole comment baffles me...

Recived same threatening call about being a federal offense  if not returning the call. I assumed it was a crank call but just wanted to see if there were other cases. The name was Dennis Grey. Something needs to be done about these cases. I am reporting it to the website abobe. I encourage others doing the same. I am in Southern CA

What is the domain name for "the website adobe" ?
There is no government entity named "adobe" in California that investigates criminal activity, that I know of.

Won't do any good.  They simply have a computer dial all numbers within certain numeric perimeters.  Call blocker is your best bet.  Also do NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.

I received 2 calls and they left no message. Now that I know who it is (IRS scam) I will answer next time to play along and waste their time! This is the only thing we can do. This way they are not making calls to others and they will loose $ and time. It's fun, try it! LOL
