- Big Bob| 1 replyComputer technical support telling me my computer has been generating viruses for 2 weeks. The same old tech support scam wanting me to download a remote access program so they can install malware and then charge to remove it. SCAM SCAM. Another India accent scammer with a spoofed phone number from a foreign call center. SCAM SCAM SCAM ! ! !
- Caller: Windows Technical Support
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Cat| 1 replyJust called my home phone - 12:07 a.m. EST. Hung up when I answered.
- ArthurGCallerID Name: V12221946320018
CallerID Number: 407-720-9140
Deliberate spoofing of the caller ID (and doing a poor job at it). Call was fraud attempting to convince me that my computer needed remote desktop software installed. They were also unaware how many computers are here, and how many are not connected to the Internet. Definitely a SCAM attempt, and since the CallerID was spoofed, there is no certain method to identify the actual number. In addition, they refused to identify an actual company name (Windows Technical Support is not a real company name). When I pressed for an actual company name to verify, they disconnected.- Caller: V12221946320018

- jkckmbSame as other reports, obnoxious Indian female voice wanting me to download programon my computer to prevent it from crashing
- M. PerkesCompany called claiming to be Microsoft Corporation saying that every time one of my computers accessed the internet the IP address was downloading viruses or malware without our verbal consent. Had fake, or forced, Indian accent and repeated himself multiple times. I informed him that we had software installed on all of our computers to keep viruses and malware from getting on our computers to which he had no response. I asked him not to call again then hung up. Total scam
- Caller: Microsoft Corporation

- Major MattCalled, left no message

- mtmomThese people never give up. I never answer, they never leave a message.
- DennisThis was the second spam call like this that I have received this week. I enjoy playing with them. I figure the longer I am on with them, the less time they have to scam someone else. I asked him what the company was and Googled it. I read back some of the scam things and he agreed that it was a scam. I asked him how he could sleep at night doing this. He said he slept very well. He thought it was good to scam Americans because of the scams that we have pulled such as saying Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon. I think that it is very bad on their record if they hang up before the person they called. He said that all I had to do was to say I did not want any calls from his company and he would hang up. I should have just laid the phone down and see how long it took for him to hang up. My wife has heard about blowing a loud whistle into the receiver. I wonder if I can find the one I had.
- Caller: Windows Service Center
- mtmomAnother annoying call while I was fixing supper. I don't answer and they don't leave a message
- Deb WJust called my cell to try to get me to turn on my computer. Told them no. They said goodbye and hung up.
- arizona calI answered the phone and was greeted with an Indian accented warning that my computer was infected with viruses. I asked how he could possibly know this. He answered that it was because I was using a windows based operating system. I replied that I used Linux and he told me that I must be some kind of mad scientist. I proceeded to inform him that I was on a no-call list and he was not allowed to call me to sell me anything. The whole time I was telling him this, he was drowning me out by saying EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I found it rather humorous.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- CSCalled me a while ago, 3 red flags,
1. came across as a wireless call.
2. Said he was from "Windows" tech support
3. Even though he had an accent, spoke to clearly to really be from almost any real tech support.
I didn't have the opportunity this time, but usually tell them I need to turn on my pc, then fire up a loud power saw I have in the garage. - IT PleaseThey were calling me from a different number in Col last week blocked that number now showing up from FL
- Major Mattcalled again and again left no message.

- ABQ NMGot a call from this number today and the Indian sounding man identified his company as Windows Tech Support. I played dumb and asked him his name, which he wouldn't give at first and then I asked him where he was from again to which he replied, "Windows." I asked him again what it was they needed and he stated he needed me to turn my computer on. I asked him his name again and he said, "Steve." I told him my computer was already on and asked what I needed to do. He said I needed to go to a website so he could fix my virus. I asked him why. He got very irritated and told me that if I didn't stop asking questions he wouldn't fix my computer. I told him I felt like he was trying to scam me and I was going to report him to the AG's office. He got mad and said "[***] off, [***]" and hung up. I left my phone on for about 15 minutes hoping he wouldn't be able to make any outgoing calls to anyone else for a little while. What an idiot!
- Brianna MI'm in the middle of a shift at work and this number (spoofed, it seems) called. I'm a receptionist, it's my job to pick up. At first I couldn't hear them, so I asked them to speak up. As said above, it was a man with an accent claiming there was something wrong with my computer. That it had "viruses and hackers and things". I'm well aware of this scam, so I played dumb and said I don't have a computer. There was a pause, and I'm not sure if the original speaker got angry or if he handed the phone over to a coworker. But there was a rather accusatory voice going "'I guess I have a computer'? You guess, you don't know?!" At which point I said clearly "I don't HAVE a computer". They immediately disconnected.
