TrustedID is the company you can sign up with through Equifax after the massive breach they had. It is a secure site. They will alert you every time somebody accesses your credit. If you signed up with them after the breach you should check your credit file online to see who accessed it and you can take action and lock your credit if you do not recognize the company who accessed your file.

You do not have to call or text anyone. TrustedID is the free credit protection Equifax provided to everyone after the breach. Just go to https://www.trustedid.com/ to access your credit file alerts. There's no scam about this. It is how the credit protection should work: Alert you when there is a change or when somebody accessed your credit file. Thinking about it: Equifax might have enrolled everyone who is affected by the breach automatically. I personally signed up with TrustedID right after the Equifax breach. If you get an alert you absolutely should check your credit file!!!

Did the text really request personal information? Or did it tell you to go check your credit file? Secure link is https://www.trustedid.com/ (See my other comments).

I just received this exact same message and had a gut feeling that this was a trick for several valid reasons. I googled trusted ID scam and saw several consumer complaints stating their identity was stolen from it. So I replied STOP and did not receive any reply. Usually when you reply STOP the source automatically texts back with a confirmation that you opted out. Therefore I think it is a scam

Everyone stop freaking out before you look into it further. Trustedid is apart of Equifax it is alerting you that someone looked into your credit. I am leasing a new car and my credit was just checked today so I know this is not a scam. Do your research before you assume something is a scam.
