Receiving a random hello text message from this phone number, which is only odd due it being more of possible spam to see if my # is valid. Less likely that it was wrong number. have recently receive similar spam text from 2 other numbers

Another rumor believer?  Why would they need to know that your number is valid?  Do you know how phone calls/texts are made by these people?  It certainly from lists that they buy.  Not when they can do it for free with buying anything.
