Same here.  I'm also in the 408 area code and have been dealing lately with several new people and businesses in preparation for the sale of a house.  Being curious I called it back using my work phone (they will only get the main switchboard number on caller ID).  It was busy.  Tried again a few minutes later.  Busy again.  A third time 10 minutes later yielded the same busy signal.  I'm not going to block the number at this time but it's probably a spammer.  Google was not a help in finding information about this number.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone asking for my loser ex-husband.  Woman said they were going to be our area and wanted to talk about home improvement jobs.  I now have a whistle which I use regularly (and frequently) to blow into these abusive callers' ears.

So, what do you think that whistle is doing to their ears as compared to your ears?

Called my cell and left an empty VM. Block 'em.

I answered the call by asking "Is this a telemarketing scam?" The woman on the other end said dryly: No, this is not a scam at all sir." Then she hung up. Bingo! It is a scam, and from the reports here it looks like it's the old "home improvement" scam. I know construction and can warn anybody not to touch these scammers or others like them with a ten foot pole. They have no customers because they are no good and will only rip you off.

I stupidly picked up! Wham, bam, stupid me! I've blocked over 200 numbers of scammers/spammers/robocalls & no longer answer my phone from any unsolicited numbers. But this number was local to me & I'd been expecting some business calls.... I picked up & the idiot says, "Calvin from Home Remodeling Services. How's your day going?" I hung up asap & blocked right away!

Good for you! I hope that whistle caused her to have to see an ear specialist. Those telemarketers are criminals if they're calling those on the Do Not Call list.

408 329 7274 These scum just keep calling. There should be the death penalty for these boiler room operators who harass innocent people in their own homes.The do not call list is a joke but I'm thinking about trying the whistle, give these jerks a taste of their own medicine.

• The DNC List is NOT a call blocker!  It is not a magic switch that intercepts calls to your phones!

If you want to reduce calls from spammers and scammers, or prevent second calls from the same numbers, get a real call blocker.  Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend!
