I just got the same phone call today from that number...the man said i was being brought up on charges and said he was an lawyer..when asked what these charges were he would hang up and call back.

Same phone number.  Sounded like he was from India.  Gave two different names;  Michael Davis and Steve Harris.  Said he was an attorney and I was being sued by a company and I couldn't contact them.  Tried to convince me to 'settle out of court' via EFT. Basically, he was trying to get my checking account info.  Luckily I'm not naive enough to give him my info over the phone.  But it shook me up!  This is a violation of our private lives and I can't believe they can get away with it!  Imagine how many people they've convinced to give them their information!  So awful.  Horrible disgusting people.

How did you get them to stop calling???

I just got a call this morning from this man called Steve Herries. Claimed to be an attorney representing some loan company and I was being sued. Don't know what he's talking about. But after reading the other comments here I called back and basically told them that THEY are the frauds and I would be reporting them. Needless to say he did not let me finish. Hung up on me.

Its nothing but a dialing for free dollars scam to everyone out there using the same threat that the sheriff is on their way to drag you to jail for fraud. All they want is your name and bank account number

called me and had all my info, ss#, e-mail, knew who i bank with, and he stated his name was mike johnson even though he saounded indian and could barely understand what he was saying and sd that i would have to pay over 9000 usd (i only took out a 300dollar loan) , he couldnt tell me exactly who the lender was or anything
