scam...claims calling from american law office(.) refuse attorneys name or bar info...scam!

also got a phone call today...major fraud. it is fun to screw with them though! they get very angry hahaha


"american law firm"....jesus if they're gonna try to scam me at least put some effort into a legit name!!

I have been receiving calls at my office in regards to an American law firm, client named Michael Smith. This man is incredibly persistent, calling back several times after being told if the call was not company related, the call can not be taken. This man called 3 times in the last 8 minutes. After some investigating I found that the number was 408-404-1717. When I called this number back a gentleman with a middle eastern accent picked up and just said "hello", no company name. When I pushed to have the company name he spelled out "Rabon Company". I goggled this company and found no company exists. I would not want any one else to deal with this so please press ignore if this number is calling and harassing you.

I received multiple and peristant phone calls from this number as well. (408-404-1717)  The name Michael Smith as the person above described is very familiar.  He claimed to be from American Law Office.  His claim was that I obtained a loan and failed to pay it back.  He asked for an apology letter with a copy of my Photo I.D. to be attached and I had 3 hours to pay over $500 or else my local attorney general (ha, there is no local a.g.) and my employer would be notified.  I contacted my local authorities and reported it.  Thank goodness I didn't send them anything.  They are very convincing when your emotions are running wild.  Spread the word like swine flu and let's put a stop to this.

Well Kudos to these scumbags for changing their name every so often. I get threatening calls from these guys all the time. Major scam. I reported them to the FTC. You would think the American Law Firm would have at least one slime ball who spoke English rathr than broken English. I also find it difficult to believe that a Michael Smith would have a thick what I believe is an Indian accent. They do get mad when you push them for info. If they are going to have me arrested and send me to prison - which they have threatened to do - have at it. At least I won't have to listen to their crap anymore!! I notified my attorney about this and she was equally amused and appalled by the gall of these people. They are the ones committing a felony. They have identified themselves as federal agents on more than one occassion. They are nothing but crooks who need to get caught. I have received the same calls from Maryland numbers and Florida numbers. This one here is a California number. Jackwagons!!!!!

(The minute they say this try to record them on your side and reaffirm this call is recorded) She claim that I obtained a payday loan via bad check and failed to pay it back.  What bothers me she read off my NEW bank Acct. #. They are good but not good enough. She was reading it as if it was a court Affidavit count 1 count 2 count 3 then says she will be contacting my employer which he will terminate me immediatly after fowarding to the local attorney general and my employer would be notified under the BAD CHECK Laws.
When she let me speak I messed with her I told her FIRST that I was currently unemployed AND BEEN UNEMPLOYED that  if they really did their home work they can see IRS get first dibs on everything. IF IT WAS BAD CHECK CONTACT MY COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY BAD CHECK UNIT AND HE WILL CONTACT ME AND I WILL PAY THEM. OMG.......SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!! contact local authorities and reported it. I agree they are very convincing when your emotions are running wild.

I rcved a call from this 4084041717 this morning telling me the last for of my acct number and my email address however I knew it was a scam due to the fact I havent taken a payday loan out in years almost over a decade ago also they couldnt get the information across with out saying ummm and oh excuse me i mean lol it was hilarious. How ever I let the male and female I spoke with get all of there legal mumbo jumbo out and then i just said can i have the case number and they told me it was extremely confidential so i stated it cant be extreme confidential if its about me so give me the info I am requesting or get of my phone with this scam and then she hung up

i recieved a call from this number this morning and then they also called my work.  I called them back and persistantly said I wanted to know how he got my name and number.  He asked if I was employed by a certain company.  The scary thing is he knew my SSN.  When I denied that was me he muttered something about me being behind bars before he made sure to call me a MotherF***** and hung up.

This is a total SCAM.  Recieved a phone call saying that if I didn't call them back immediately, they could only wish me luck as this horrible mess unfolds on me.  I called back and he claimed that an email address (that I haven't used in over 10 years) was used to solicit funds and that $$ was transfered into my bank account (yeah right!  no such thing ever happend!)  He read off my "charges" like a legal affidavit.  He would not answer ANY of my questions (even simple ones like where is your company, who is your manager, what is your licence number to practice in California).  He refused to answer them and then got super angry in his Indian accent yelling in the phone, I am not the fraud, you are!  IT'S COMICAL, IT'S ANNOYING, ITS A SCAM!!!
