    Man with heavy accent, who spoke quietly over a bad connection, wanted to schedule a meeting with a specific manager.  (Phoned earlier but hung up, then again but don't think he heard me answer, so I disconnected.)  Sent him to Purchasing.

    Calls from 408 numbers are on the rise.  Often no one is on the line, but when a person does speak, it is to ask for IT personnel.  408 numbers are telemarketers or scammers.  They are now on do not answer list for our switchboards.

    Several times a day for the past several weeks, callers from this number have resorted to not speaking and hanging up after I give the introductory speech.  Since numbers no longer appear on Caller ID, I must pick up every time the phone rings; otherwise, I'd ignore them.
