Caller did not leave a message.  I called the number and the call was answered with the greeting, "Thank you for calling.  Please hold for the next available agent."  There was no identifying information given, so I have no idea who I called.  I was then several times given the options to "leave a message or continue to hold and an agent will be with you shortly."  After about the third such announcement, I was given the option only to leave a message.  No one ever answered the call.  I hung up at the beep.

I asked what they were selling, his response was that they weren't selling anything. I asked, then why are you calling. Add me to your do not list or keep calling and make me some money for breaking the law and calling someone that is on the do not call list. Green-day, Whatever that is, Solar, green energy? by the way Cisco WebEx is a web conferencing tool probably how he spoofed the number. 408-600-3747 does not come back to legitimate business. He was also very careful to very evasive.
 Spoofed Numbers: Caution, 408-600-3747 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint here to fight back against unethical telemarketers.

Per above re a "spoofed"caller ID showed, in call waiting, Cisco Webex.  I did not pick up as I was on another call.  However, if they are trying to trick us, they are using the name of a mega corporation!

Think Danial has got it exactly right in his post re his experience in questioning caller.  I am in CA and get at least 5 calls a week and a few snail mails a month for companies selling solar systems even though I am on the Do Not Call and Do Not Mail
registries,  which they ignore!  They also flagrantly ignore multiple polite requests to be removed from their lists.  They of course, almost always hide ID with "out of area," "private caller," or even use a phoney name as this company does.  This has been going on for over a year and now falls under harassment!  I once heard that if complaints are filed with proper State/Fed agencies, these companies are subject to fines of $Ks,  That is if anyone has time or energy to pursue.  Has anyone tried or does anyone have info in filing complaint?

Yes I do agree we need to also complain on do not call.gov.  I know I'm on on the do not call list, and still get a bunch of calls everyday from them.  I've asked them to not call-- guess they can't hear very well.

I wonder how the rock band "Green Day" feels about this.  That's trademark infringement, right?
Although if they are spoofing phone numbers to sell legitimate solar power, how trustworthy could they be?  

Plus if they're selling you solar, and have no Internet presence, THEY ARE BOGUS!!!  Probably just checking to see if you are home so they can come rob your house.  Everyone, change your voicemail message to "I'm painting the bathroom (or bathing the dog/ shearing the lamb/ making a soufflé), leave your number and I'll call ya back."  At least they will think you're home and not bother to come over and rob you blind.  And if you really are shearing the lamb, for goodness' sake, LOCK YOUR DOORS/WINDOWS, even in daytime.  No sense making it easy for them.

I'm sick of these barrage of nightly phone calls! I've had 6 tonight in the last 3 hours! It's the phone companies fault!

New name for these scammers!  The scam company at this number is now calling themselves "Be Green" as opposed to "Green Day" as of September 2014.  

After weeks of coming home to Cisco Webex on Caller Id (with no messages), I was home and picked up.  The caller asked for my husband -- when I asked the nature of his call, he hung up on me.

Creepy!  If it was some political group, they'd probably be just as happy to chat at me (and I'd be responding with asking them to take us off their list).  I agree with other posters that it's probably some local scam to see if you're home and case your house.

Stupid solar people.  Since I already have solar, it is a waste of both our time.

Problem is, they are are sold our numbers by the electric company.  It is considered a helpful service or something.  So annoying.  I get 4 or 5 calls a week from them

Female caller, asked for me or husband by last name, stated was performing a "solar survey", I advised I had an appointment and then asked to be removed from their calling list, but before I could make my request she disconnected the call! The DNC option is failing us, as we continue to be harassed/solicited/called when we are not interested in being called by these companies, and there are many! DNC doesn't work!

Stop calling my number. I will complaint to BBB and do not call registry

Knew my name and identified self as "Clean Energy Research, have you considered solar energy?"

Cellphone rung as soon as I got off the bus but did not recognize the number so I did not answer. Now that I see there are numerous complaints,  I know not to answer and will block it.
