Received a call from 408-907-8000 from Unknown Caller.  The first person I spoke with said he was with Brighthouse and that I had a problem with my internet. After I said I did not have Brighthouse, then he told me he was with at&t.  This continued with him giving me 6 or 7 names for the company he worked for.  He kept trying to get me to hold down the "ctrl-windows-r" key at the same time.  I just kept asking questions like what town he was located in and all he knew was that he was somewhere in Florida.  He finally got upset with me asking several more questions that he put a second person on the phone.  The second person, John Walton, could only tell me that I was having a problem with my internet and that the company he works for owns the internet and Brighthouse, at&t, and etc purchase this service from them, but he was unable to give his companies name.  He also gave me my computer license number of 888DCA (by the way no number on my computer matches this number).

This is a phone number for Netgear Customer service.  I do not know if it has changed since 2016.

Or if it is being spoofed now, which it sure possible.  I have not seen anyone post about calls from Netgear on this site before.  Esp on a holiday.

Why would you look up the number if you already know who called you?

I got called at 1am on Super Bowl Monday.  This would not be NetGear.

A probable SPOOFED number that did not respond to several hellos.  When I called back using *67 to protect my privacy. the recording said they were Netgear Inc, a communications company that makes cable modems and routers.  As I just purchased one of their modems, it might just be a wrong number, but I did not call them.
