This number has called twice with an automated message

Yes. I get this phone number quite frequently about 2-3 times daily.
They also call under number # 888-660-4834
The automated message starts out "This is not a sales call"
Then it says it is a business call & that I am to call
them as soon as possible then they leave a number.
Who is this? They calls are originating from San Jose, CA.

Calls perhaps once a day, not quite every day, in the 11am - 2pm time frame (Eastern time).  Leaves the number 888-660-4834 as a number at which to call them back, but provides no info as to what the call is about besides "this is not a sales call".  Recorded voice has a weak accent (possibly Eastern European or Russian?).  Lots of background noise on recording.

Forgot to mention, calls are being received on a cell phone (my only phone).

Yes getting the same call with no information but to call the 888 number. And if you call the number there still isn't any identification for who it is and you are put on hold.

I've been receiving the same calls for the past 3 days on my cell.

I've received several calls with the same pre-recorded message you are talking about here.  This is probably "Ken Hughes" in disguise.  If you haven't heard of him, he has left many people the same recorded message demanding that people call him but he doesn't identify what company he is calling from.

Called right after 8am this morning, did not leave a msg. Has called periodically for the past 2 weeks or so, there is a man's voice saying "this is not a sales call" please call.....I didn't write down the number to call because I have no intention of calling him back. If it is not a sales call, then maybe he should state the reason for his call.

I get a call from the 408 number per my caller ID on my cell,but the recordin gives the 888 number.  It is a gentleman with an accent stating this is not a sales call and asks that the call be returned to the 888 number.  This just recently started and he calls about twice a day 3-4 times a week.  I figure if it is anyone who "really" knows me they have my home and work number.  So, I never return the call.

This number has called and left me a message every day for at least a week now. Finally trying to stop this madness, I called the number back and asked to be removed from the calling list. The guy that answered (same one on the recording I think) said he was looking for <my name>. I told him he was speaking to <my name> and asked to be removed. Then he said he had the last four digits of my social security number as XXXX. That was wrong. Then he said he had my birthday as XX/XX/XXXX. Wrong again. I asked again to be removed and hung up. I'm starting to wonder if this might lead to identity theft for some naive callers.

I found 4 numbers that have been calling me like crazy and found ALL of them on here........

The Gov't needs to step in because this is an attempt at Identity Theft!!

Calls from this number seem to have trailed off (maybe it was just for the holiday weekend or something), and they no longer successfully spam my voice mail every time.  Some of the calls have left no message, and one left a blank message, so they may have changed their MO.

I also get numerous calls from this number.  I get the same stupid message as others or if I answer-nothing.  Wish they would stop!  When I see their number on my caller ID, I answer and hang up on them but they still keep calling! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have been getting calls from this number 4 times a week.  Every time I say hello, they hang up.  That is until today.  They asked for my girlfriends using a very old married name.  I say there was no one by that name here.  They person said, "well, do you know anyone by that name."  I said "Yes, but they haven't gone by that name for many years  ... why don't you get recent information.".  Then I hung up.

They were definitly fishing.  No wonder they always hung up when I answered, they were looking for a female voice.

Thank goodness I selected a VOIP provider that allows me to block individual number.

This number has called many times, leaves message this is not sales call and to call back at 888-660-4034.Don't know who this is ,I won't call them back, some info coming back on this number seems to be connected to a Brivia Communications out of Nashville,TN. Info on this company states it is a telephone company. This is very strange call, it could be telemarketing, collections for them OR an attemp at I.D. theft. People if you talk to these people do NOT give out ssn# or any other personal info.

Update on 408-907-9109 have found more info on this number.Some info links this to Brivia Communications but 408 area code is CA area code. Info on Brivia Comm is in TN. , NOT in CA. All reports say caller sounds like same person or close to it. Some have reported that they I.D.their self as    someone from a management company. Who is this? This is very strange. This could be someone doing I.D. theft. Do NOT give out personal info to this person.

we recently paid off or home these bozos  call 5 times a day

calls continuously.  all signs point to collection agency.  looking for someone else, but based on other calls we rec'd, that same person has either left this number with companies to evade collection.
the most annoying part is the line goes dead when trying to call back to ascertain the reason for calling. took 5 calls for me just to get through and have enough of a conversation with Arshad to learn that they were calling for someone else.  requested to be removed from their call list 6:28pm EST Sept 27, 2007.  If they calls start again, I'll be back :-)

just to add on, i agree with the others re: don't give personal info.  i hated to even give the number i was calling regarding, and I'm going to closely monitor my phone calls, just in case they might be selling numbers.  for the record, though, we did make some financial changes lately - not that would beg collections, and this was clearly intended to reach another person ("Tony Perry," couldn't understand the address they read back, but think it might have had something like "Stone" in the street name --- did they happen to use that name w/ anyone else?), so not totally unexpected, but the persistence is really something, and the shroud of secrecy on their end is certainly cause for concern.
