Options Reply - (Continued) replies to Wierd Text Msg???I would keep getting them about once or twice and then they seem to stop! Today in Walmart I got 5 calls from: 202-239-6000. I answered it once or twice and all i heard was a faint, "Hello?" and i hung up. The background was a quite place, with no or hardly any people. Then, about 3 hours ago, I would get these texts saying:
-------Texts-------
Them: "Hey"
Them: "Hey Bob"
Me: "Who is this?
Them: "Mr.Possums"
Me: "Uh huh. Now really who is this?"
Them: "Mr. Smell"
Me: "Who the freak is this???"
Them: "Hi"
----End of Text---- - Boss HogI've been receiving messages from this 1 (410) 000-0xx number for quit some time now. It started out as 001 and has now reached 048. I have responded with stop, unsuscribe, etc and continue to receive the messages. Anyone have a clue how to make them stop?
- anthonydicit is a site where someone puts your # in and it texts you
I don't know the site though - anagot one from this # that came through as from Eva.Knight@ipad3testandkeep. ugh. spammers!!! thanks for the info, anthonydic. bosshog, only way i can think of to make 'em stop is to block the number from your phone . . . unless someone identifies the site and anthony mentioned and finds a way to put them out of business!!! (legally, that is, legally put them out of business, as by of course.) any ideas on that, anyone?
- anaOkay, I read a few more of the comments here than just the first two above me, and saw the info that the # has been linked to text2day.com. Here are some direct quotes from their website:
"Txt2day is spam free text messaging. That's right, we won't send you unwanted text messages or share your phone number with anybody. Stop spending and start texting." [ Ha! Maybe (maybe) they don't scam directly, but they sure are used by spammers as several reports here demonstrate.]
"Getting Unwanted Messages?
Block Your Phone Number" [the latter part is a link; I guess that's where a previous poster said he blocked his number]
"Txt2day does not condone spamming, harassment or illegal activity. All messages will be tagged with the sender IP address and sent to the recipient and will be turned over to law enforcement when requested." [Good to know! And to make use of as appropriate! Interestingly, it doesn't specifically specify when requested by law enforcement, just when requested . . . though I'd be surprised if they turned it over to law enforcement at the request of anyone other than law enforcement.]- Caller: unknown via txt2day.com
- john c replies to rachael dotson| 1 replyLadies or anyone else shouldn't go through that kind of nightmare, the phone companies really need to clamp down.
- AMy friend uses this number. I have a iPhone and it's annoying as hell. Also a lot of marketing calls flood my phone and it's listed in my moms name. What the hell?

- CaraKeep getting texts from 41000000#. Is there any possible way to make it stop?
- SRS| 2 repliesI have gotten 2 texts from this # about getting a free I-phone 4S. Both times I received this text in the area of 4:30am. I DO NOT appreciate this. 4:30 AM is unacceptable. 1 call was on 11/28/11 & the other on 12/12/11.

- iloveplywood replies to SRS| 1 replythis won't stop the messages but hopefully this wills hd som light on the problem. The reason you are seeing the 1(410) xxx xxxx numbers is that these text messages are not true SMS messages they are actually being emailed to an ATT email address that turns this into a text message. The 1(410) number is an increment ID of some kind not a telephone number. The From field contains the true sender. You can test this out by emailing your cell phone number @txt.att.net. So if your cell number is (111)222-3333 email a message to 1112223333@txt.att.net and you will get a text message on your phone from the mysterious 1(410) number.
- iloveplywoodThe above is true if you have service with ATT. I have no idea if the same thing happens with other carriers, but all carriers have an email address like ATT's that get sent to your phone as a text message.
- KrissiJust got a text from 1410000001 It said FRM:Tabby Provost
