Got a call from a [***] telling me that my windows computer was sending his windows server alerts that my computer was infected. I played along for a bit..LOL. He told me to go to a website www.win31.us and he could fix my computer.  I told him that I wasn't able to get there b'cause I had Websense running.  He asked me to shut it off..  I asked him if he was a real technician and what was my name, he told me my name and he had my phone # so I asked him what the source IP address was of my computer that was sending him an alert and told me he didn't have that but I was a registered windows users.. I told him I was recording the call b'cause he was a scammer and he didn't hang up.. He was, I'm sure, thinking he had a sale.. ha.ha.ha... I thanked him and told him that I just wasted 10 minutes of his time and he said it was 11 minutes and 25 seconds.  Unfortunately, some poor elderly person would probably believe this POS..  Stop H1-B Visa's  !!! These people have show only contempt for Americans.  VOTE for change else this country is doomed by people like this.

Called, no message of course but based on other callers comments talked to this dude about a year ago, "from windows, your computer is infected, blah, blah". Apparently, got a new number but big deal because he's already on the blocked list. Hope no one falls for this dude's scam, ever.

I got the same call from a person with the same accent started with the "I'm from Windows Technical Support". That's number six in the calls.  I also hung up.

Same here, I don't answer calls when I do not know who is calling.  Caller ID said Joann Grier.  They even left a message.  You could hear a call center in the background and then a hang up.  I called Verizon last week to see about blocking specific numbers but after being on hold and switched back and forth between people for 1/2 hour I was told that unless I had FIOS I could not block specific numbers.  Too bad FIOS is not available in my area!  I do have a whistle, though.

same - eastern accent claiming to be from windows support - I hung up - but if you get a call, they will probably try to get you to open/allow remote access so they can infiltrate your computer and dump bad stuff.  The caller id said joanne grier but, of course, it was an indian or packistani male.  whatever you do, never, ever, allow remote access/log-in to any techs.  windows should close this 'feature' and only allow it if you are the one calling customer tech support at a verified microsoft call center.

This caller has called before.  I never pick up.  This time it went to voicemail and the male caller evidently didn't realize it because I could hear him saying "Hello? Hello?"

Same deal..my ID said Joann Grier. As soon as I answered, the background got loud (warehouse), and a male named Mike (Asian accent?) started the same scam about my computer. As soon as he started talking, I said some rather unpleasant words to him thinking he would hang up. He just kept talking until I hung up! I just block area codes when I can, to save my slots for the individual calls that I have to block from some MI area codes where I can't block the entire area. The area code only has to meet one test. Do I know anyone in Maryland? Or FL, or wherever? NO? Block!!

I received a call, said he was from windows, I asked for the windows number so I could check him out, he hung up. could not get any one when I called back

August 14, 2015 and he's still calling people with the Microsoft virus scam.

Many thanks Jack for the hoster info.   This guy's business is "H B IT Solution Private Limited" and it is indeed located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.  It's corporate directors are Sayyed Kasim Ali and Ashok Bishnoi.  I used the Indian business records to trace their exact address and corporate registration details, as well as another email address. The phone number in the goDaddy hosted info you provided is a working mobile number in India, and when I called and said I was calling from Microsoft IT Support the Indian guy that answered said "$&:t" and then hung up.

The call yesterday was as above, with the twist that it became very sexual in nature. Today I just told him I don't have a computer and he thanked me for my time. ugh

This is the scam telling you that something is wrong with your computer. They indicate they are from Windows Technical Support and can see (which they can't) you have many errors on your system and ask permission to access your computer system (which they can do with your help). If you let them access it, they will display a page (that really does not indicate your system is in trouble, but it may look like it to the uninformed) and say they can fix it, and will give you a figure of $300 to correct it for you. If you let them access your system they have full access to all the info you have stored on it (DANGER....DANGER!). I received the "J Grier" call yesterday and they tried again today using the tel# in place of "J Grier" this time. I use call blocking which I purchased online for $40 so I have blocked them (as well as many more, what a relief).
