Called me claiming to be from social security and to call back immediately, so I did, guy on phone could not say why they called me? I suspect it was a scam for information,,,,they hung up when I pushed for talking to a supervisor.

Got a call yesterday (8/21/19), robocall from "Social Security Administration" claiming that there was unusual activity with my identity and to call them back.  Clearly a phishing scam.  SSA would never call you.

I received a call from this number but didn't answer it. They left a VM stating they were calling from the SSA,  telling me that my social security number had been suspended due to fraudulent activity.  Being that I work for the SSA I decided to call the number back.  The person who answered the call spoke poor, broken english. I explained to him that I had received a voicemail concerning my social security number being suspended. I listen to his scripted speech, at which time I informed the man that I was an employee of the SSA. At which time, he replied, 'so you work for Social Security?' In a   noticeable nervous voice he simply said, 'I hope you have a good day' and hung up.

Voicemail transcript gave 2 #s to call back. Voice message repeated the numbers & said something like “deliberate ignorance of this message will be considered Intentional attempt at non-appearance.”
Ridiculous. Blocked the number.
